00:00As the state of emergency continues across the country, the TTPS's Southern Division says it has embarked on a series
00:08of intensified exercises that have so far been effective in that area.
00:14We have been working very hard, 24-7 around the clock. We have been doing amplified exercises. We are looking
00:22at priority offenders and we have been doing different types of exercises so that we will bring perpetrators before the
00:31courts and persons will be dealt with according to the law.
00:34However, earlier this week, employees of a bookstore in San Fernando were robbed while at work around midday, prompting the
00:42president of the Greater San Fernando Area Chamber of Commerce, Kiran Singh, to call for more patrols.
00:48Superintendent Bridgelal says visibility has been heightened and greater focus has been put in strategic zones.
00:55In response to the calls from our patrols, we have had our meetings and we continue to be effective. We
01:02have amplified those patrols so you will see a lot of visibility and a lot of mobility in terms of
01:09strategic areas where we are focusing on patrols in the hotspot areas, the criminal areas. And we have been effective
01:16and we continue to do so.
01:18She was speaking to TV6 News during a TTPS Women's Empowerment and Wellness Day held at Palmis Park, San Fernando
01:26in observance of International Women's Week. The women began with an aerobic session, then a walk into a treasure hunt
01:34fun event.
01:35Because we have been working very actively over the field in light of the SOE. So we continue to do
01:42so. But we have taken an hour and a half off so that the women will be empowered and we
01:49can do an event in observance of fitness and wellness.
01:52Women are leaders in our sphere and our society on a daily basis in all aspects. So as a consequence
02:00of that, not only as leaders, we also have to do an effective work-life balance.
