00:00What we have seen and what has been reported also, which we have copies of, seems to be frolicking, mismanagement
00:09and wanton wastage.
00:10This is not the first time we have seen this level of wanton wastage, but it needs to stop. This
00:15is taxpayers' money. That's what we have seen.
00:17CWU Secretary General Joanne O'Gier with a scathing assessment of what took place during the recently concluded TSTT retreat
00:24in Tobago,
00:25which reportedly cost taxpayers almost half a million dollars.
00:29O'Gier says the union has no issue with the retreat and believe that it is something that can be
00:35beneficial to the board and the company.
00:37However, according to her, what actually took place was downright shameful.
00:42Why wasn't there images of some type of boardroom activity showing some type of strategic plan for these, you know,
00:50for the next three to five years for the workers?
00:52What we have seen? Lawlessness, women in bikinis, parading on no man's land, parading with bonfires, parading on a tiki
01:03boat.
01:03And we are seeing the leadership of the organization, the acting chief executive officer and the chairman present.
01:12It is corporate shaming and abuse of funds.
01:15O'Gier says she is ready to quote bus more files, especially given the current situation with recent cutting back
01:23on working staff and cost cutting, as well as the lack of proper offers at the negotiating table.
01:28You cannot ask workers to understand that you cannot bring a decent proposal to the table.
01:36And I want to tell Trinidad and Tobago, TSTT has offered zero, zero, zero, no consolidation of COLA.
01:42As a matter of fact, that is not an offer.
01:45An offer does not start at zero.
01:47TSTT is not negotiating in good feet.
01:49And at this point in time, and in three weeks, I promised the country that I am going to bust
01:56small files because we gave the company a chance to negotiate in good feet.
02:01And they have continuously insult, not continuously insult, but they continuously insulting workers by their behavior and their lack of
02:11sensitivity.
02:12And there's a credibility gap between the leadership of the organization and the workers.
