04:12this is the kind of story you would write you know that some other adversity happens they're never
04:17going to make it and then they just constantly win i wasn't really paying attention at the beginning
04:23of the year to how this john cooper thing like what what the foothold was for it what the walking
04:32off point was for it because i just i wasn't that interested in who was going to be coach of
04:36the year
04:36you know the sabers were off to the sort of start we're used to seeing them have and i just
04:41was not
04:41paying attention to who's going to win awards in the nhl the first time i heard about coach of the
04:47year
04:48was probably before the sabers really blasted off and there was this you know how about john cooper
04:54for a change sort of sentiment and it is yeah it's very much a career achievement type of sentiment is
05:02what i'm getting you know he's had excellent years and done great jobs and won cups but he's never had
05:09that year where he got that recognition and seeing as hell it doesn't seem like anyone else obvious
05:14by the usual criteria i.e what you're saying right pdo like some breakthrough team that we didn't see
05:21coming the sabers weren't yet on the map as a as a cool story in the league and therefore lindy

05:27getting any attention at all it's sort of this idea that cooper would get it this year because he's the
05:34best idea out there and he deserves it or something in finger quotes i just think you have to you

05:50has been incredible they're in first place by four points over cooper's team and nobody saw it coming

07:36was that brian murray was the coach of the senators who won that division he had won the award murray

07:44the way in 1984 for washington and i don't know maybe they didn't have a problem with not voting for
07:51brian murray because he'd already won one 22 years earlier i i'm tangled up here uh you know that yeah
