00:00The compensation isn't the big question here, guys,
00:03in terms of what they gave the Dolphins.
00:05The question is the contract, right?
00:06We know it's three years, $40 million.
00:08We kind of need to see the details, though.
00:10Is this a contract they can get out of after a year?
00:14Is this a contract if things aren't working out,
00:15they can move them at the deadline easily?
00:18I assume it is.
00:19I assume it's going to be a pretty fungible contract.
00:22So I don't see any downside here, really, of doing this.
00:26Question with Minka is he's going to be 30 years old during the season.
00:30How much does he have left?
00:31I've talked to some people around the league this morning
00:32who said they think in the short term he's a good bet.
00:36He's still got some ball left in him.
00:38This takes them out of the major safety market, though.
00:42I'd say if they're paying $13 million a year for Minka,
00:44you're not going to sign another big safety.
00:45You might sign a cheaper one,
00:47but I can't see they're having two safeties back there
00:49that are making over $10 million a year.
00:52So this is over the guys we talked about,
00:55like Nick Cross and Brian Cook
00:57and guys we've been discussing in free agency.
00:59I think they're probably out of that market.
01:02So they need veteran leaders.
01:04That's something they really need.
01:07They didn't have it last year.
01:08They really felt the loss of C.J. Mosley, I thought,
01:11on defense in the leadership aspect of things.
01:14This gives them a leader.
01:15I would imagine Minka will be a captain of this team.
01:18It would be my guess.
01:20Aaron Glenn's going to call the defense.
01:22He needs some players.
01:23He needs some guys who've been around football,
01:27not learning on the job,
01:28and that's Minka Fitzpatrick.
