00:14well he was fourth yeah fourth place and he was impressive in both sessions yeah

00:23the guys like it kind of a mixed bag you got the traditionalists who like the
00:27typical format but they know what they have to do in this triple crown format
00:31and by the way we're all racing to a weekend off next weekend there's a big
00:36incentive for these guys to finish this night here in Indy on the right note but
00:40you got to start it on the right note ready to go get to down here we go oh
00:46Eli got a bad jump there he is in the middle of the pack he's blocked in look
00:51at this Prado you just heard from him now he leads the way with Justin Cooper and
00:57Cooper Webb on the inside oh look at Cooper and watch those insides all night

01:07Will Christian talked about at the opening of the show the two riders that
01:11needed to get have a good finish nonetheless it's Cooper Webb defending
01:17Supercross champ the last race that he won was the triple crown back in
01:22Arlington he makes the move right up the inside new race leader the man who won
01:28here a year ago in Indy his team mate is running third where's Ken Rockson
01:33there's Kenny there's the Suzuki just on the inside of Hunter Lawrence just when
01:37you think these guys are out of it they say not so fast and he is back in the
01:43title fight here what a move from Rockson beautiful rhythm great pace just blows by and here
01:52going past Hunter Lawrence he's getting swamped by Christian Craig and Joey Savacci yeah he is
01:59caught up man the intensity level is so high right now all Prado get passed by Kenny we
02:06talked about how fast and how explosive Kenny is now back comes Prado on the inside
02:10trying to respond let's see if he can tuck back underneath them this is helping Cooper
02:16where push for these guys fight through that flat track section over that little
02:21triple and tightened up Kenny had the preferred line he was set up perfectly to
02:25be on the it out inside to the right hand corner able to secure that second place
02:31there's Justin Cooper next Viking shot there's the Honda there's three Hondas
02:35all together Christian Craig Hunter Lawrence Joey Savacci then Garrett March banks
02:41see Justin Cooper he was going jumping the whoops in qualifying practice see how all these guys are
02:50blitzing it right now I do anticipate to see some jumpers here shortly how about this opening ride from
02:57Christian Craig as Hunter Lawrence goes on the inside Christian Craig great start made a few passes
03:04just lost a spot there he is rocks and going for the lead the two guys that will featured who

03:10to have a great night tonight not to continue to allow Lawrence and Tomac to get away they're running
03:17one-two and this how on cue is that and that is I mean listen they know what's at stake

03:23of course they're still in it still in it but you start going and dipping further here he goes what

03:34through the whoops right there Kenny comes in commits makes a move and and Kenny listen these guys know
03:42where their competitors are good and where they can make make time up on their competitors and Kenny I
03:47believe since that Indianapolis has been a great city to it to well what Savace had to take a basic
03:55action there go around the top block Tomac continues to wait make his way forward gets one quad lock Honda
04:02done he's now working on Christian Craig watch him through this section here there's 10 jumps in a
04:08row and how you play it determines where you pop out the other end and look at rocks and again
04:15and so
04:16coop was able to catch up tried to make a pass back but those whoops are right in between the
04:22stage of
04:23jumping being equal or not as slow from jumping and then blitzing being the fastest line so it's going to
04:30take a few more a few more laps to get that established will yeah we've heard some rumbles
04:36about Cooper Webb and some bike changes Ricky and I checked him with Rich Simmons team manager there
04:42and he said well after last week before the main they made some changes that kind of took him back
04:47in
04:47in his old direction if you like and that gave Cooper a bit of a feeling that he wanted more
04:52of that
04:52so coming into this week during the week they've made taking him back to his old base that he was
04:57riding at the end of the season last year his words to his team manager it feels like I'm home
05:03they're sticking with that the reason being they don't have to worry about improving the bike for
05:08blitzing the works I know it's an issue right now Ricky but as he said it's going to go to
05:11jumping
05:12and that's going to be the way forward here through the East Coast round yeah sometimes it's best to go
05:17back to that home setting see we're always JT trying to make these bikes better but sometimes you
05:23could get off course if you're not careful yeah you can you can really confuse yourself if you
05:28change one thing that ends up changing something else and it's easy to get lost but Ricky I love what
05:32you said about the whoops kind of being in that in-between stage because the guys that want to
05:36blitz can still with speed the Tomacs the Hunter Lawrence's the Ken Rocksons but a guy like Justin
05:41Cooper here he's not in a position where he can really jump yet they're not deteriorated enough
05:47which leaves him really vulnerable and watch Tomac he's going to try to make a move right here
05:50well he made a move on Hunter Lawrence but here comes Lawrence back the top two of the championship
05:55but duking it out as they go by Justin Cooper Prado's the next one on their list the two guys
06:00who are separated by just one point in this championship heading to the break yeah getting
06:06spicy here and the reason that is is this is a triple crown the intensity level is high but it's
06:11also for the championship one point separates these two guys right here and it is time to lay it all
06:18on
06:18the line up front two seconds between Roxxon and Webb then you get to third place Prado his teammate from
06:24Red Bull KTM the winner from Daytona last week Eli Tomac even with that broken tooth that got worked on
06:31and remedy on Monday morning as fast as they could get it done he went to the dentist and now
06:37here he
06:37comes through the whoops as he just eases by his teammate perfect scenario for Eli Tomac
06:44especially having his teammate back this is what you want to have his teammate get in between him
06:49oh and the points wow these guys Prado checked up whoa whoa whoa see and Lawrence knew he had to
06:58get
06:58him there because he can't afford to let Tomac get too far away that's right well he's able to get
07:02by Prado
07:02so now he can set his sights forward Eli is on a mission you can see Prado going backwards and
07:10man
07:10he was showing some good laps good speed very impressive ride coming back have a look at these
07:16times through the whoops you saw it firsthand with Ken Roxxon when he went flying by Cooper Webb that was
07:23impressive stuff Justin Hill with the third quickest time Justin qualified really nicely today as well
07:28yeah he did we talk about an incredible bike skill great to see him up here Joey Savace is now
07:37starting
07:37to make some inroads on Justin Cooper there is the 17 he is the best non-factory rider bike in
07:44the
07:44championship chase he sits seventh I want to go back to Joey Savace and how well he's been doing as
07:51of
07:51late and you know you go back to 2019 when he was Eli Tomac's team teammate at Factory Kawasaki that
07:59monster energy team and he had an injury at Nashville that took him out of the series and this is
08:04where
08:04he kind of was at that time and he had a gnarly foot injury in Australia nice pass by Justin
08:11Cooper to
08:12get by Prado and he's finally gotten back to that stage of where he was getting his feet on the
08:18ground
08:18and it's great to see Joey basically rebuild himself well it's been a myriad of stories of injuries teams
08:25closing down opportunities evaporating but it speaks to the resilience of the man right of the athlete
08:33he's never given up he's found a terrific home here at quad lock Honda through that little flat track
08:38section where TV doesn't do it do it justice just how fast they are going no dip you and I
08:44were on the
08:44track for qualifying practice today in that particular section and those 450s can absolutely
08:50lay the lay the power down what about Roxxon up front not only did he get by Cooper Webb he
08:57has taken
08:58off he almost jumped off the course right there you know when he got that win back here 2023 that
09:07to me
09:07like the last couple of seasons have been amazing for him right that was the ignition point for him
09:13now we had a huge crowd like we do here tonight and it was just such an amazing moment for
09:18Roxxon
09:18so special oh he's not able to execute this uh rhythm lane right here just double double double he's going
09:27to lose a ton of time however he has a massive lead in his triple crown 12 minutes plus one
09:35lap look at

10:37eli tomac it has think of all the riders that he had to fight through and make moves on to
10:42get to where
10:42he is right now so this will take the pressure off as far as look inside move

10:56oh webb almost dropped it and tomac capitalizes
11:02and he's going to get passed by hunter lawrence
11:07oh look hopefully cooper's all right two positions in a quarter of a lap
11:15jt there is no stopping eli tomac tonight yeah and you just see look at cooperweb drop back in those
11:22whoops they have been so costly to him in race one in this battle for second it's eating up boys

11:27oh hunter makes the move eli slips he gets caught up behind i believe that's kevin morans
11:35hunter sees the door open and takes it that is a
11:40crucial pass and you saw the urgency earlier in getting by jorge prado by hunter lawrence because
11:46he didn't want to let tomac get away so he's stuck with eli and he's been able to get by
11:51him that was
11:52the move for second wow i mean you talk about hunter lawrence keeping the pressure on eli tomac
12:00and again lee you talked about it on the opening to show all these great accolades and the record books
12:07oh eli gets sideways foot comes off the foot peg but all these accolades and the success that he's had
12:14this year has kind of overshadowed just how well hunter lawrence has been doing it's been very silent
12:21making it happen he was not too pleased last week initially after not winning at daytona this guy
12:30is in the form of his career jt he's got the best worst result of the pack the worst he's
12:37finished
12:38this year is only four his consistency has been just colossal yeah he's been wielding that consistency
12:44like a sword and i've spoken to him so many times in that second place position throughout this
12:48season and it's always been met with a little bit of frustration a little bit of disappointment
12:52but i'm going to tell you what i think this second place is going to be met with delight because
12:57he
12:57simply rode past his biggest championship contender eli tomac and is starting to pull away from him
13:04you're exactly right jt i couldn't agree with you more and he is absolutely putting the pressure on hold
13:10on to it joey getting a little sideways these whoops are starting to go away you're going to see riders
13:14start to jump him this is that moment where they have swapped you don't feel comfortable blitzing
13:19those whoops the best thing to do is start jumping to them because you know you can do it consistently
13:24well done ken roxson he did not get the whole shot he had to work hard for it in those
13:29early laps
13:30had to make some key passes most notably through here through the whoops on cooper webb and then he took
13:37off he boasts more than a six second lead indianapolis loves ken roxson and ken roxson loves indy and
13:47this is going to be his ninth triple crown win here comes kenny gets the night off to the best
13:53possible
13:53start roxson wins here in indy race one his teammate colt nichols went down yeah honda lawrence grabs second
14:01ahead of his title rival and look at that you can see the smile in the helmet roxson's like yep
14:07you count me out of this championship i'm gonna prove you wrong that's right responding at the ample time
14:16that's the way to get it going all the writers will tell you you need to start well in a
14:20triple crown
14:21and a win is perfect
