00:00It was absolutely lights out. This is another opportunity for it.
00:04JT next to him in the gate. Lux Turner. What an incredible heat race finish that was. He was
00:09second. That betted the week before last week in Glendale when he got a third. I got to speak to
00:15him briefly there between the heat and the main and he told me sprints are good. I'm good at the
00:21sprints in the heat races. He said the main is where I kind of struggle a little bit more. He
00:25put
00:25his fitness after coming out of injury only about sort of 70-75 percent. So incredible performance
00:31from Lux and he said there's more to come. There's Max Anstin in 61. No podium since winning the opener
00:38at Anaheim 1. Can he get it back tonight in Seattle? And then a shout out to Hunter Yoder who
00:45has been
00:45very strong this year. Told the story yesterday at press day where he thought his career was over.
00:51He was a hot prospect amateur with the old Geico Honda team. They lost their sponsorship. They
00:55shut down and suddenly he was looking for a ride and he thought his time was over.
01:00Got three great seasons in with the PRMX team backed by Partzilla and Blaster Power. Now a Club
01:06MX taking another step and pretty aggressive in that heat race but looking feisty on that number 60.
01:13So hard to do what he's done to claw his way out basically of that hole and stick with it
01:20and never
01:21give up. You definitely have to respect that. Yeah said at one point he was just coaching during the
01:26summer to try to make money. Wasn't even thinking about racing anymore and now he's been a top 10
01:29runner all year. But Deegan of course the one they're chasing. We'll see it Anstie or Moseman can get it
01:35back
01:35together after some great races earlier in the season. Kitchen certainly is one to watch for
01:40these fans of the 47. Can he win the home race again? It's time to find out. Rebs are up.
01:56And it's one of the star racing Yamaha riders up front. Anstie first hole shot in a long time
02:03for the 61 and in the Kawasaki riders fighting through Deegan, Kitchen, McAdoo. Watch inside right
02:10here by Hayden Deegan. He's going to make a clean pass on the 47. McAdoo running up front. Love to
02:17see
02:18that. Oh man. Yeah he got hung up right there on Lux Turner. And then Deegan able to make a
02:24clutch pass
02:25on Moseman. He got Turner there as well. It bottles up on these tight sections right here after that
02:31start finish. Look at those whoops. And Deegan just blows by. And that's what the difference is
02:39Yes. And what Hayden Deegan is able to do compared to some of his competitors. Remember he's right
02:45there by the 47 of Levi Kitchen. And look at the distance and the gap that he has built. Unbelievable.
02:52And now all over McAdoo. Yeah now he's going to race McAdoo clean or he's going to race McAdoo smart.
02:59Right here he's going to anticipate
03:03Some rough riding I would guess but no contest. One rider left on the list and that's Anstey who has
03:10not led since round two. And then it really started to come undone. You watch the lines that Hayden takes
03:17and the aggression that he has in the corners. The corner speed exiting the corners getting on the
03:23throttle applying the gas as soon as possible. And then there's Levi. One little mistake there
03:31on lap one. He's got to make up for it. That's right. I mean the goal would have been to
03:35stay
03:35right on the rear wheel of Hayden Deegan and have that intensity and make those money moves early.
03:42Making moves is DeFrancisco and Deegan looking to make the pass on Anstey.
03:51Just like that he's in the lead. Yeah this guy's on another planet man. Ain't even no one close to
03:57that. Looks back over at his teammate. Slides the rear end over. Cuts down early on the corner. He's
04:02made several passes like that. And again just watch the aggression coming out of the corners. Super explosive.
04:11Show you the pass for the lead.
04:15Here's how he made the pass. Taking a different option through that rhythm lane like Jason Thomas
04:21was telling us about early in his track report. Look it. Slides the rear end. Gets a good drive
04:26coming out of the corner. And because he does that he's able to have more speed through that rhythm
04:32lane. Stay lower and drive through there. And makes the move.
04:37Kitchen making moves. He's around McAdoo and up to Anstey. Man now you can see that see the aggression
04:45in the 47 of Levi Kitchen. Completely different rider than he was early.
04:53Driving through the jumps. Corner speed good. And I think he has a chance right here.
04:59And the crowd's into it. That is the home state native Kitchen.
05:04And he has the fastest lap of the race. Well now is his choice or chance to make it happen.
05:11Show that potential. Ride up to Hayden Deegan and battle him. Anstey battling with McAdoo for third.
05:21Critical juncture here.
05:26Oh McAdoo off the track. McAdoo goes off. Doesn't look over when he gets back onto the track. Oh.
05:32Cuts right in front of the 34. Oh that was a good save by Ryder DeFrancisco cutting down.
05:39He tags the back wheel of Cameron McAdoo.
05:44I don't know if something's wrong with McAdoo here. They're going by him quickly.
05:47Moseman now challenging him as well. That was a really good pass by Ryder DeFrancisco.
05:52He closed the door on Cameron McAdoo. That is a very difficult pass to make and to hold that position.
06:02McAdoo played him safe too at the same time. He raced him strong.
06:06And Deegan stretching it now over Kitchin. McAdoo's back.
06:11Yeah he's kind of like regathered himself right here.
06:16I love the alternate lines here through the sand section.
06:20Yellow flags flying. This guy's got to look ahead.
06:25Not sure why the yellow flag was out. I don't see a downed Ryder.
06:30But further back got a battalion of Yamahas here. See Moseman 6th. Volan 7th. Yoder 8th. Ross 9th. Turner 10th.
06:39All in blue.
06:44The yellow flags are down for uh out for Rodbell who's down. Hopefully he's back up.
06:50And McAdoo goes back to work on DeFrancisco. And now they have to roll. Looks like he's up though.
06:57Yeah. Rodbell is up. But they cannot jump that big double. That's right.
07:01Yeah. And he's in between the jump there.
07:04Great call. Good heads up riding from the riders. Recognizing the red cross flag.
07:11Hey it was 2.4 when Kitchin got the second. It went to 3.4.
07:15Back to the feet coming up the pegs here. This is a gnarly section.
07:20Seeing these guys go through here all day long. How difficult it was.
07:24Has been. This is where the track is really starting to go away.
07:30Ruts becoming a factor. Especially in the rhythm lanes. They're almost
07:36gnarlier through the rhythm lanes than they are in the corners.
07:41And the mechanic cheering. DeFrancisco on from fourth.
07:46Trying to get him to hold off McAdoo. Kitchin is now matching Deegan. He got it back to
07:512.4. And they're about even up. Last couple laps JT.
07:55Well there's a section that just after the roof that Kitchin finally started doing. It's a trip
08:00onto the tabletop. It's actually this section you see McAdoo in right there. They're going two in the
08:05table to single. There are two riders up front when Kitchin just switched to it. They're tripling onto that
08:10tabletop. That is how he's been able to close the gap down. He was faster everybody everywhere else
08:15on the racetrack. But that section alone was costing him at least a full second.
08:19Well look. It's worked JT. He is right there now on Deegan.
08:23Here we go. This is going to get good right here. He the 47 has got a line on him
08:31now.
08:34To roll the double because Rod Bell's bike is there. I saw Rod Bell was able to get off the
08:38track himself under his own power. And it is back on for the lead. There's the triple onto the table.
08:44These lappers definitely going to play a part here. But man what I really want to see from
08:48Levi Kitchen right now is to dig deep. Go in there. Give it your best. Your all-time best right
08:56here.
08:58Deegan's looking back. Challenged the man. Set it to Will.
09:01And that's what Levi told me. He wanted this scenario. Ricky and Jason. He said I don't want to do
09:07it by
09:07finally getting a good start. But Hayden gets a bad sight. He said I want him to get a good
09:11start.
09:12I'm going to get a good start too. He's aiming for top five and I want to be able to
09:15race him.
09:16And the hometown hero is getting the chance to do that right now.
09:19Yeah, he's got him. Levi is all over him right here. He is the faster rider on the track.
09:26There it is. Halfway through. Reminder of Monster Energy Drink. You can stock up
09:31at Amazon. But if you're going to go shopping, make sure you keep the window open. Watch this.
09:35Pass to the lead. Kitchen.
09:42Listen to this stadium.
09:48Oh no! I thought he's going over the bars. He almost took a trip. That was for sure. And that
09:53was a
09:54really nice save by Levi Kitchen. Going to be interesting to see if Hayden Deegan can react. He's
10:01losing some ground right here. He could feel the pressure from the 47 coming. Checked up. I don't
10:07know. Maybe he pulls over. Let's him go by. And now the pressure is on the 47 of Levi Kitchen.
10:15Roll reversal, JT.
10:18Yeah, and Hayden is so mentally tough in these situations. You could almost see him
10:22take a reset there and come back after Kitchen. I believe he thinks he has more in the tank than
10:28Kitchen. So as long as he stays in touch, I think he's happy here to go deep into this main
10:33event and see
10:34how it shakes out. Yeah, Levi's got this rhythm lane absolutely dialed.
10:42It's going to be key for Hayden to stay as close as possible to Levi Kitchen here. If he wants
10:49to contest,
10:55he's just on another zone right here. After those first five laps, man, he just started clicking off
11:02Sector 7 right there on the left hand side of your screen. Addsort Kitchens just put two tenths per lap
11:08over Hayden Deegan. Oh, watch out for the lot of traffic. Oh yeah, that's going to slow
11:16Levi down, not being able to triple.
11:22Hayden's able to just gain a little ground right there, going to the outside. But I think that
11:26Levi right here is much faster. This is where that sector is, I believe, going to the inside of the
11:33sand. He makes up so much time.
11:38He's got Hayden on the ropes right here, man. If he could bridge that gap, I think
11:43Levi's off to the races. And this is that breaking point right here where Levi says he's just got to
11:50have that grit, keep doing what he's doing, and see if he can break Hayden for the win.
11:56And that's asking a lot because we started this show saying Deegan is
12:01for certain an all-timer in the 250 class. That is the challenge for everyone out here to beat
12:05one of the best to ever do it on this size bike. And right now Kitchen is answering the call.
12:13See, this is where I was talking about. Levi's has the advantage right here.
12:18He's just greased in this section, but it has to go triple.
12:21Uh-oh. And Deegan just cut that gap in half, and there's two lap riders.
12:25Oh, man. These guys need to get out of the way.
12:32And Deegan's seen that line there a couple times. Can he switch?
12:36He does. He just, I mean, listen, he just obviously feels like he,
12:38he feels more comfortable taking, taking the line that he does.
12:43Oh, here it comes.
12:44He's playing games with him now, maybe trying to rattle his cage a little bit.
12:49That wasn't a very good move for Hayden to do that, especially if he knew that he wasn't going
12:54to be able to make the pass. But like I said, maybe he's trying to shake him up a little
12:58bit,
12:58get him off sequence. Look, he isn't able to triple. Here you go.
13:01They open the door. Deegan up the inside. Oh, Deegan a mistake.
13:08Triple down to that table. Here's that big rhythm. Let's see if Kitchen can get it back.
13:13Two, three. Yeah, he does. Three. Oh, almost tags that lapper. But then look at Levi,
13:22he gathered himself up. Wasn't affected by the move that Hayden did.
13:28He's got to get back onto that tabletop though. Yeah, he's got to get back onto that tabletop.
13:33And we'll find it. I like the remount that Levi did. Very strong.
13:41This is such a battle in so many ways, not just what you're seeing on the track.
13:44There's been so much between these two on the track, off the track,
13:49social media awards. Here's the triple jump. Here we go. Still not getting onto it. Deegan does.
13:55Battle in the bottom is Moseman and McAdoo for fifth. DeFrancisco is all on and forth. Deegan is
14:02right there again. Yeah, he's pulled up alongside of him. But man, it's like, oh, here we go.
14:11Yeah, if you're Hayden, if you want to make the pass, he's got to make it. Oh, he didn't triple.
14:17Deegan a 3-3. Got the inside. Got the lead.
14:21Really good pass. He slows up in the corner.
14:29I mean, it's going to be tough for Deegan to straight up go out and just pull away from Levi
14:34because Levi is slowing down and blocking. Watch. Watch Levi on the inside of the whoops right here.
14:43Oh, I thought he was going to be able to get a good groove, but.
14:48Oh, Deegan almost down. Caught the front wheel. And Deegan.
14:53Kitchin back underneath. Takes the lead again.
15:00Oh, they didn't get that rhythm. Here comes Deegan. Watch the turn down.
15:09Oh, unbelievable. This is some fantastic racing. We saw the same thing here last year
15:15with Beaumare and Hayden Deegan going back and forth. And time is running out. Man, if you're Levi,
15:25you have to anticipate every move that Hayden is going to make. He's going to cut back underneath him.
15:33Side by side. Nope. Deegan has the lead again. Third line. He checks up in the whoops.
15:40Not going to let Levi get past him to make sure that he's just right there. He's going to quarter
15:47him up
15:47most of the time. And now, if you're Hayden, this is where you've got to sprint. You've got to try
15:52to gap him
15:53right here. Levi's got to get this rhythm on the inside. He's got to get it. Double. He gets it.
16:01Oh, barely. Now what about this one?
16:04Yeah, I mean, he's got to get every single rhythm lane. This next lap is going to be so crucial.
16:13Hayden trying to roll out. Probably two to go here. Yeah, Levi needs to keep the pressure on.
16:18You can't let that gap grow any bigger. Because if he does, he gives Hayden just the amount of breathing
16:23room that he needs.
16:28He's right there.
16:36There you go. And he got the triple onto the table, Deegan.
16:41He's feeling it now. Yeah.
16:45Right here now. This is where Hayden...
16:49Oh, Hayden's not able to do the rhythm lane right here.
16:53And he looks back. Yep.
16:55What happened was that Lapper was taking Hayden's line. Look at Levi reels him back in.
17:05White flag.
17:09Club of X teammates battling for seventh in that bottom box.
17:14Mosebin six, Yoder seventh, Bolin eighth. Time running out for Kitchin.
17:19Yeah, they're going to have to turn it loose right here. Hayden's going to have to get an unbelievable run
17:24through the whoops.
17:25Kitchin did turn it loose. Here he comes.
17:27There he goes. He's going for it. One last push. Triples on, triples off.
17:31It's this rhythm lane that JT was talking about. Is Hayden going to be able to execute
17:38his lane perfectly. He's got a Lapper in front of him. He does.
17:44Cleared it. And around the lap rider. One rhythm to go. Kitchin is sending it behind him.
17:53One turn left. Deegan blocks the inside. Hayden Deegan wins the battle of Seattle.
18:08Wow. There you go. Yeah, he's got respect for him. It might not seem like it, the way that, uh,
18:15the way that he races him, but the handshake right there. Look at this. Wow.
18:25Man. Almost. Almost. That was an unbelievable. That was a really, really fun race. Great riding.
18:33I would say, I mean, mostly clean. And, uh, man, that was a lot of fun to watch. Just back
18:40and forth,
18:41back and forth. And, and, hey, Levi raced him hard. He did everything that he needed to do. It's just
18:47those last two and a half laps. Hayden was able to get probably five bike lengths more than what
18:54Levi probably should have given him. And he just couldn't get there. Oh, went for the, uh, bow and arrow
19:01shoot mockery last week over the finish to congratulating Levi in a great race.
19:09Hayden Deegan gets it done. That was the biggest challenge he's had
19:12this year or maybe any year, but he gets it done.
19:18.
19:18.
19:18.
19:18.
19:19.
19:20.
19:21.
