06:49Guys, when he was on the podium, and I was interviewing him there in the last race,
06:53he said, you know, what's your takeaway of where you're at?
06:56And he said off camera, he's like, well, I do have to remember, this is only my 10th day
07:00back-riding Supercross, and it just put it in perspective for me where he's been at, where
07:06he's gotten to, excuse me, after that injury that you guys spoke about.
07:09It was a very serious injury, a scary one that he admitted in his own words there, and when
07:15I spoke to Ben Griffin, his mechanic, earlier, he said he couldn't believe how quickly Joe
07:21got back to the pace that he is riding now, and he just wanted to remind me how incredible
07:27that really is.
07:28He also shared with me that Hunter Lawrence, Joe Shimoda's HRC teammate there in the 450s,
07:35told him, when you get back on a bike, Joe, I want you to go and ride the track, there's
07:39two tracks, oh, he stalled the bike there, two tracks at the dog pound, and he said, go
07:44and ride the one that you had your accident at, go back and face your fear.
07:48Joe said, okay, got back out there, and that was his first day on the Supercross.
07:54Yeah, he stalled the bike right there on the inside, able to fire it up quick.

08:03He sure is, but he's going to have company in the form of Hamaka.

08:51And this isn't easy to do, getting a good start like that, running up front when these guys
08:56are just hounding you.
08:57It's like you're in the hornet's nest, and he's done a great job.

10:29And I find that interesting as I was talking to his mom, his mechanic, the people closest

10:34And they were telling me what a perfectionist Cole Davies is.
10:37You don't necessarily know that when you meet him.
10:39He's kind of a quiet guy.
10:40They said so much of a perfectionist, everything is like folded in his locker in the truck.
10:45Everything's in his perfect place.
10:47His mom told me that's the way he's always been through his whole life.
10:49Everything in life is organized.
10:51So he finds it tough when he hasn't got perfection in his riding to let those mistakes go.
10:57He said that's kind of part of it.
10:58It serves for the good and the bad.
11:00And he's having to sort of like let that stuff go.
11:02Mistake, move on.
11:03But that's that perfectionist in him that apparently has been there his whole life.
11:07Well, and it's obvious in just his demeanor when he talks about his results, whether it
11:12be victorious or not.
11:13This is a good scrap for third.
11:15Honda versus Kawasaki, Shimoda versus Hamaker.
11:18Well, Hamaker's definitely found his flow here in the third race.
11:23And it's going to be a tough night for Hamaker from a points perspective, especially after
11:28that crash last moto or last race, pardon me, in the whoops.
11:33Jalik doing a great job holding on.
11:35Man, this is going to be tough to defend that position.
11:37These guys are all over him.
11:40He's only got a couple more laps, JT.
11:43Yeah, and you've got to think that Seth is really benefiting from this Triple Crown format
11:48though, because it's been a really tough night, as you mentioned.
11:50But look, as the points as they run, he's still going to be on the podium.
11:54So what could have been really challenging, he's only going to lose five points to the leader.

11:59It's like, JT, it's like this is where it works out for you.

12:35Last year in Glendale, Davies won two of the three races to finish third overall.
12:41Last year in Arlington, he did win a race, but he got fourth and 17th in the other two.
12:48So he finished seventh overall.

12:52They don't matter because this 18-year-old from New Zealand is going to be perfect.
