06:51pierce coming up through the pack he's worked his way up only to 15th and the thing that's really
06:57hardly in these triple crown races is these guys only race 10 minutes plus one lap it's almost like a
07:03heat race so a lot of these riders have the fitness to go super hard for that short amount of
07:09time which
07:10makes it more difficult to make passes trying to work his way by liam olof
07:15great to see olof out there qualifying for the main event running up in the top 15.
07:25how about in the bottom box this battle for third last week seth hammocker that was an awesome ride
07:31to get that daytona win so special in his career but considering what had transpired earlier in the day
07:36where he had a very heavy fall hurt his shoulder bike was damaged couldn't go on in qualifying and
07:43then to bounce back that way he also had like a little little drop in his heat raise as well
07:47right
07:47so as he works his way further forward got a little squirrelly there through the whoops yeah the whoops
07:51are starting to get chewed up these riders are going to struggle and this is going to be a challenge
07:56keep your eye out they're probably going a lot of riders are probably going to start jumping those whoops
08:01they were doing it earlier today in qualifying practice probably a little more consistent for
08:06them to do that rather than blitzing well ricky a question about when they learn when they start
08:15jumping here i asked a few riders today and they were like it's going to be a combo between when
08:19you
08:20feel like it's getting uncomfortable to keep skimming and also when the team is saying hang on a second this
08:25is not faster anymore and then they have to communicate that to the mechanic who puts it on
08:29the pit board so at what point here do they say hang on a second i'm going to call this
08:33and go the jump
08:34line is joe makes the faster yeah that's a nice pass for joe shimota to get by dax but i
08:39think as a
08:39rider you know you have to be super intuitive and you have to make that call you have to be
08:43aware
08:45and see here dax tries to defend the position he doesn't it was a great pass by seth hammacher
08:50to get by keep an eye out on those inside lines right there you see that dax tried to go

08:56up in there make the pass back by seth he's going to come up a little short meanwhile cole davies

09:03opened up a four plus second advantage over joe shimota and seth hammacher just two minutes left
09:10you see seth right there and even joe they weren't able to do that combination through the rhythm section
09:15and that is because these uh rhythm lanes are getting ruddy already and this track is going to
09:22be absolutely brutal as these races go on here tonight a lot of fun to watch let's work our way

09:52is a breakout year for him working with chad reid over at that club mx yamaha team and you just

09:59to believe that one of the reasons not only from the team perspective but that coaching and that
10:04knowledge that a champion like chad reid has this has been quite the comeback we watched joe shimota
10:10by championship leader pierce brown he's almost breaking into the top 10 after being last on the
10:16opening lap yeah it's just it's so tough with these triple crowns like i was talking about man if you
10:24have a first bad race or not up here with your competitors at that stage you're just playing catch-up
10:31the rest of the night having to force certain situations or circumstances shimota's a fan of
10:38the of the triple crown he said look you got three chances to either keep doing what you've been
10:43doing or fix some mistakes or errors yeah yeah it really takes a lot of discipline and puts these riders
10:50in a situation uh-oh that did not look good no puts them in a situation to where they have
10:55to execute
10:56multiple times tell us more about joe i'm just watching the timing here he's closed that gap down
11:02to under three seconds yeah and in front of cole davies he has a lot of lap traffic so you

11:08bigger with eight seconds plus a lap to go maybe davies can manage this thing but joe shimota has done

11:19rider had a gnarly injury that he sustained in the off season i don't know that he was certain he

11:24going to make it back obviously the goal was to but man he comes out at arlington has a great

11:30riding exceptionally well considering the circumstances and there he is he's just been
11:36getting good starts and plugging away that injury that ricky was talking about was a broken neck
11:41and surgery did his recovery time rehab came back strong he was on the set with ouija myself at
11:47at a1 yeah like he was still in recovery mode that recently so this has been very impressive well like
11:54jt was talking about and cole davies coming up on lappers it's going to be difficult for some of
11:59these lappers to just move around and the reason it's going to be difficult is because how ruddy it
12:05is so they just basically have to stay married to their line they can't go from one side of the
12:09track
12:09to the other because of that man look at this he is really pretty to watch right that's for sure
12:16now he's
12:17got himself back to where he says he should be this is more like the cole davies we expected to
12:23see
12:24at the beginning of this east division championship last run through the whoops as form is just very
12:31neutral on the bike and a very nice riding style been very purposeful today i watched him in qualifying
12:38first time out he waited for the whole field to go by he had his own track space race win
12:45for cole davies
12:46that's his fourth individual race win in triple crown format for his teammate from monster energy star
12:53yamaha pierce brown had to work his way through the field trying to get as many positions as he can
13:00this is all about the cumulative points on the night you've got to try and finish as low as possible
13:06let's see if he goes for oh jaleek isn't able to triple that section they're going to play cat and
13:12mouse he's not going to be able to get the position how about that he got back into the top
