00:00And when you look at kind of where we're at, we're right here this final weekend before you get into
00:05conference tournament play.
00:08Miami, Ohio, where do you I mean, do they get in?
00:12You think if they go undefeated, kind of where do you shake out when you start looking at some of
00:17these bubble teams and what this looks like?
00:19So since Indiana went undefeated in 75, 76, there's only been seven teams that went through the regular season undefeated.
00:27I mean, and they would be number eight. And every one of those teams, except Alcorn State, was a number
00:33one seed.
00:34We're talking about Larry Bird in Indiana State and St. Joe's with Jameer Nelson.
00:39He was one of my favorite players, by the way. Kentucky, UNLV, these unbelievable schools.
00:45And Miami would join that fraternity if they can beat the Bobcats tomorrow night.
00:49And there's no doubt that they should be in the tournament.
00:51I don't care if they lose tomorrow night and maybe even lose another one.
00:54I mean, this is what we're doing. I think the difference with college football and college basketball is I was
00:59talking about this yesterday.
01:01I tend to favor the power schools in college football. You're playing through those schedules.
01:05You know, if you're a nine and three or a 10 and two college, I'm going to favor you.
01:11In basketball, I kind of favor the mid-majors.
01:14You win 30 games, 29 games.
01:17Why are we putting in a 19 and 12 or 18 and 15 team from the Big Ten or the
01:22SEC?
01:23I understand the schedules are different, but you play the teams in front of you and you play teams that
01:27are about the same quality as you.
01:29So if they were to let Auburn in over Miami, I think that would be a travesty.
01:34And, you know, I'm not saying that like Ohio State, Indiana, that's a big bubble game on Saturday.
01:39I think the Buckeyes are looking good now after last night's win.
01:41But, you know, that's still a big game for them against the Hoosiers.
01:45But, I mean, what are we going to reward at a certain point?
01:47If Indiana loses that game and gets in over Miami, I wouldn't agree with that.
01:51The thing about this Miami team, Steel, is they don't have a superstar.
01:54They just collectively shoot the ball very well.
01:58And, you know, they'll run into the Bobcats.
02:00I'm sure that Ohio will be – the students will be fired up to see them on Friday night in
02:05the convo.
02:05But either way, you know, I respect what Miami's been able to do this year.
02:09What seed was Indiana State when they got in?
02:11They were 0-1, believe it or not.
02:14So – and Wichita State was the number one about 10 years ago.
02:17Or, you know, when they had – remember, they went undefeated after a Final Four run.
02:21Then they had to play Kentucky in the second round.
02:24So, you know, people have been asking me what would Miami be seeded.
02:28I think they should be seeded 7, 8, something like that.
02:33They might end up like a 10 because you go back and look at some of the great MAAC teams
02:37over the years.
02:38That Kent State team, Miami with Wally Zerbiak, those teams were 10 seeds.
02:42So we'll see.
02:44But I just – I just know the committee tends to undervalue the MAAC even when they have a really
02:48good team.
02:49So we'll see.
02:49So we'll see.
02:49So we'll see.
