00:00But Miami, Ohio, with the season that they're having, it's sort of unprecedented here because, again, we've been through this,
00:06Mike, for many years with teams like UNLV and Arkansas and UCLA, teams that have run the table, they win
00:12all their games, Duke, and then go on to win a national championship or just lose one game.
00:16But I don't recall a team like this getting that deep into the season, winning as many games in a
00:22row as they did, and I really don't know how to judge a team like that going into, I guess,
00:26their conference tournament, and then naturally they're going to make the tournament.
00:28I don't know what seed they'll be.
00:30Yeah, a lot of people don't know if they'll make the tournament, and a lot of the scenarios involve what
00:36if they lose one the rest of the regular season.
00:38Well, I would not recommend that because I've seen the rest of their regular season schedule, and it's poor.
00:44There's no other way to put it.
00:45People want to look at their overall schedule ranking and all that.
00:49It's 360-something, and condemn or dismiss this undefeated record.
00:56Look, somebody's 360 at their 355th every year in the schedule strength, and none of them are going undefeated, so
01:04don't tell me about that.
01:06But if you're playing 170, 200, 230, whatever, down the stretch, it's hard to take one of those as a
01:15loss and feel good about what might happen relative to selection.
01:19If they get into the MAAC tournament and they lose, let's say, in the final to Akron, which is an
01:25excellent team, there's just no way in my mind they don't make it.
01:28But there are a lot of people that are trying to justify the idea that they wouldn't.
01:33We've never had anything like this, as you mentioned.
01:36Wichita, similar, but they played a bunch of high majors.
01:39They'd already been in the final four the year before.
01:42There wasn't much skepticism about them, only the question of what they would be seeded, and ultimately they were a
01:47one.
01:48St. Joe's in 04, playing in the Atlantic 10 then, which was stronger than it is now, playing in the
01:54Big Five, playing a very good Gonzaga team at the Garden.
01:58They had a lot more to go on.
02:01Miami didn't schedule up against any high majors.
02:05And honestly, in retrospect, they should have played some more teams in their circumstance, somebody from the Valley, somebody from
02:14the Sun Belt or whoever.
02:16And they didn't.
02:17And so they don't have the accomplishment that they might have.
02:21But I don't see how you walk away from 34-1 or 35-1 or something like that.
