00:00But we have to begin the world of the NFL because free agency with the new league year begins on
00:05Monday.
00:05You're going to see moves coming fast and furious, guys changing homes.
00:09But the trade market and releases already starting to dictate some of that.
00:14In fact, in the last few minutes, relatively notable move across the NFL as the Buffalo Bills go out and
00:21get a legitimate number one wide receiver, courtesy of the Chicago Bears.
00:26DJ Moore traded away. Moore, of course, has been with the Bears for a number of years, although reunited with
00:33the offensive coordinator Joe Brady there for Buffalo.
00:35Played with him previously in Carolina. You see the details of the trade on your screen from Adam Schefter.
00:43Compensation still being discussed, but the trade cannot be processed until, of course, the beginning of the new league year
00:49on Monday.
00:50Now, DJ Moore is coming off of a relatively down year by his standards, just 682 yards on 50 catches,
00:58by far a career low dating back to his rookie year when he had 55.
01:01And, yeah, he's getting up there in age just a little bit as well. He's going to turn 29 next
01:06month.
01:06But this is a guy who still has a handful of 1,000-yard seasons under his belt and gives
01:12Josh Allen and those Buffalo Bills a coveted number one capable target.
01:17All due respect to Khalil Shakir, but this is a guy who is really your bona fide number two or
01:23three wide receiver.
01:24A consistent, if used properly and if healthy, 700- to 800-yard receiving guy.
01:30Moore, at a certain point, just became buried with the Bears over the last year or two between Roma Dunze,
01:36Luther Burden, another guy.
01:39You know, just a bevy of options there for the Bears.
01:43And so this is an opportunity now for him to go out and to shine again working with Josh Allen.
01:48And I happen to think it's going to be a great fit for a Bills team that is trying to
01:52get back on track after an early playoff exit last year.
01:55What's it mean for the Bears going forward?
01:57We will see because, again, you could always use plenty of targets there for Caleb Williams and what hopes to
02:02be another deep playoff run for Chicago in another successful season.
02:06Speaking of wide receivers, Stephon Diggs looking for a new home, at least as things sit right here because the
02:11Patriots announced, as did Diggs, that they plan to release him with the start of the new league year as
02:17well.
02:18And this, largely a financial situation, Stephon Diggs was going to see a monster jump financially to a contract that
02:26was going to pay him, if kept there in New England, more than $26 million for the upcoming year.
02:33He's about to be 33 years old.
02:34He is a 1,000-yard guy last year.
02:37He was the number one for New England, but that team is definitely looking to get younger, maybe a little
02:43bit, I don't know, cheaper, depending anyway,
02:46on who they're working with, if they're going to be paying a wide receiver that kind of money, and maybe
02:50they will,
02:51by a trade with an A.J. Brown or free agency with an Alec Pierce now that he's not going
02:57to be tagged in Indianapolis.
02:58But if it's going to happen, it's going to happen for a guy who has term and who has age
03:02on his side,
03:03not for someone who, again, is on the wrong side of 30 by a hefty margin, again, in the case
03:08of Stephon Diggs.
03:09But a good soldier, good leader, good teammate, locker room guy, all of those things in his one year in
03:14New England.
03:14Is the door absolutely closed on a return, him coming back for less?
03:18Of course, it's not.
03:19But for him coming back on that kind of figure, it just wasn't going to happen.
03:23Let's move over to the NBA, or at least NBA adjacent anyway.
03:26As Hall of Famer and former Portland Trailblazers head coach Chauncey Billups,
03:31his trial has been set for November.
03:35Now, for anyone that does not remember, hasn't been talked about here in a little while, obviously,
03:39federal judge Roman Reyes said just yesterday that the Hall of Famer,
03:45along with former player Damon Jones and nearly three dozen co-defendants,
03:49will stand trial on November 2nd.
03:51Billups and Jones got people into poker games ran by the Italian mob that were rigged.
03:58Billups, Jones, the other defendants have pled not guilty.
04:01The judge is pushing for a November trial date.
04:03That means the case is moving forward toward full courtroom proceedings rather than quick settlements.
04:09Billups and the other defendants could face serious penalties.
04:12We're talking upwards of maybe 20 years per count if convicted.
04:17We will see.
04:18Minnesota trying for online sports betting.
04:21As we know, we're ticking off states one by one that don't yet have the legalized sports betting.
04:26There are only 11 left.
04:28Minnesota, one of those where sports wagering is still illegal.
04:31But on Wednesday, just yesterday, four senators proposed Bill SF 4139
04:37that would allow online sports betting in the state, restarting the debate in the legislature.
04:4211 licenses would be available.
04:44Each license would go to one of Minnesota's Native American tribes that already run casinos.
04:50Then each tribe would partner with one sports book company, whether it's FanDuel, DraftKings.
04:55You get the idea to run betting apps.
04:57The bill details 21 and over.
05:00Of course, college sports can be wagered on, not college props.
05:04No different than a place like New York or where I am in Massachusetts.
05:09Better and Polymarket announced a new multi-year partnership.
05:13Better is entering the prediction market landscape, which, as we know,
05:16and we've seen companies like Underdog laying off a massive number of employees this week
05:22with aspirations to dive deeper into the prediction market.
05:26This is what is taking everything by storm.
05:29They're going to launch better prediction markets, including sports event contracts,
05:33powered by Polymarket within the Better Super app.
05:35These will include binary event contracts on things like sports outcomes, politics, culture, other future events.
05:43The quote from Better CEO Joe Levy is launching predictions is an important step, pardon me,
05:52toward our vision of creating the first true nationwide real money gaming and financial super app
05:58integrating a category projected to reach $1 trillion in annual volume
06:04into the same seamless experience as PIX, Sportsbook, Casino, and Arcade.
06:09There is no better partner than Polymarket to power this expansion,
06:13given the category leadership and deep connectivity across the ecosystem.
06:17We have seen multiple books, most recently DraftKings, as well earlier this week,
06:22heading in this direction with Super Apps.
06:24Let's go over to the NBA, where, again, you got a bigger slate today than what we dealt with last
06:29night,
06:29but you did have some interesting games that were on the docket, included the Thunder,
06:32not covering, but very nearly slipping past the Knicks at MSG.
06:38Madison Square Garden, 103-100, the Knicks covering as a four-and-a-half point dog.
06:43Chet Holmgren, great game, 28-8, SGA 26-8, so good on you if you were on the under for
06:49his points,
06:50which is routinely right around 30-and-a-half, 31-and-a-half.
06:53It was a balanced offensive attack for New York.
06:56Carl Anthony Towns, 17-and-17 rebounds to go along with those points.
07:01Jalen Brunson, 16-and-15 dimes.
07:04So, again, guys, filling up the box score, no doubt about it.
07:08SGA on facing the Knicks, and Brunson, of course, on that narrow loss.
07:19You guys have seen some of the top teams in the East recently.
07:22What's your impression of this Knick team after playing them tonight?
07:26Yeah, good team.
07:31Obviously, a good offense.
07:33Then they have really good defenders up there as well, so they're well-balanced.
07:39They're obviously top of the East for a reason.
07:41They're a good team, playoff team.
07:44But, yeah, they have really good roster.
07:47Well, they were sending a lot of different double-teams blitzes, traps all the time.
07:51When you ended up with 15 assists, what did you see from the way they were trying to defend you,
07:54and how did you, I guess, react to that?
07:56I feel like I missed a lot of shots I normally make.
08:00Got to give them credit.
08:02But also, just able to manipulate them a little bit and find other guys to make plays.
08:07And so, like I said, our defense gave us a chance to win,
08:12and we've got to convert on the offensive side of the ball.
08:17Hornets continue to be scorched hot.
08:19Not only is 6.5-point dogs winning outright by almost 30 in Boston at the other garden against the
08:25Celtics.
08:261-18-80 for Sean Knupel.
08:2820 points.
08:30Jalen Brown, 20 and 11 rebounds.
08:3229 for Derek White in the loss.
08:34For the Sixers, they handle Jazz a 7-straight loss.
08:381-06-1-0-2.
08:40Tyrese Mack, 25-point.
08:42Deontay George, 34 on the way.
08:45Stay with us on Newswire.
