00:00Hello again. You may notice the sunset this evening looking a little bit more orange than usual.
00:05That's that Saharan dust that we've been talking about most of the week.
00:09But the other talking point is this bad of rain that's making its way southeastwards as we go overnight.
00:14It could be a little bit heavy at times, particularly over parts of West Wales,
00:17and there will be some winteriness, some sleet, some snow mixed in with it over the highest ground of Scotland,
00:21but also the far north of England as well.
00:24Ahead of it, across some parts of the southeast of England, staying largely dry, maybe some clear spells.
00:30But the clearest skies will be behind that front across parts of northern and western Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:35And here we're going to see the lowest temperatures as well.
00:37Temperatures dropping widely a fair few degrees below freezing away from the more built-up areas
00:42and just a little bit further inland, coastal spots staying that bit milder.
00:45So a fair bit of frost for these areas.
00:48There could be some icy patches as well to watch out for too.
00:51Elsewhere, temperature's not dropping as low because we still have some milder air towards the southeast
00:55and elsewhere where the cloud is and where we have that rain, well, that will stop it turning to chilly.
01:02And then tomorrow we wake up with three zones of weather, mostly fine towards the southeast,
01:07wet across many parts of northern England into parts of Wales and southwest England,
01:11and then clearer, brighter, but chilly across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
01:15The rain across many parts of England to start the day, that actually clears away towards the North Sea.
01:20But then we see some wet weather coming in from the south, so a spell of rain, some thicker cloud
01:25as well,
01:25coming into effect some southern, some central, perhaps some eastern parts of England as we go through the afternoon.
01:31Western fringes of Wales and maybe parts of the southwest towards Cornwall, well, we could stay largely dry
01:36and there could be a few breaks in the cloud allowing for some sunshine.
01:40But the best of the sunshine, the most prolonged sunshine, will be across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
01:45And here it is going to be a significantly brighter day than we've had through Thursday.
01:50That being said, it is also going to be a little bit chillier for many of us because of that
01:54colder air that's coming in.
01:56And so even though there's more sunshine on offer towards the northwest,
01:59temperature is still only getting to highs of around 7 to 9 Celsius.
02:02And even further south and east, there's still some mild air clinging on.
02:07We're looking at highs around 14, 15, but that's quite a drop compared to the pretty warm day that we
02:13had today in the southeast.
02:16Then later on, as we go through Friday night, we do see a lot of that rain gradually dissipating and
02:22clearing away.
02:23But there's always going to be some thicker cloud and some outbreaks of rain trying to come in from the
02:27south.
02:27So central or southern parts of England and Wales staying pretty grey or cloudy.
02:32And it could be quite murky at times as we go through the early hours of Saturday morning with a
02:36bit of rain here and there.
02:38Always driest and clearest across as much as Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:41And again, where we get those clear skies, there could be some frost around.
02:45Fairly widespread, but perhaps not quite as harsh as the frost that we're expecting through this coming night.
02:50And just worth bearing in mind, towards the far northwest of Scotland, the winds will be strengthening here.
02:55Bit of cloud building through the night, and that's because there's a front that's starting to edge its way in.
03:00And so then as we go into the weekend, well, Saturday's looking quite cloudy for many of us.
03:05A cloud across central southern England and Wales that pushes its way northwards as we go through the day.
03:11There will be some breaks in it, but also a few spots of drizzly rain here and there as well.
03:16A good deal of sunshine clinging on across eastern and southern parts of Scotland.
03:20Meanwhile, for northern and western Scotland and Northern Ireland, that front towards the northwest, that edges its way in.
03:25So things turning cloudier, mostly dry, but yeah, turning cloudier.
03:30The wind's strengthening.
03:31It's just really towards the western Isles, perhaps.
03:33Maybe towards Orkney and Shetland as well, where we start to see that rain from that front making its way
03:38in.
03:39Temperatures, well, they are going to be a little bit higher than on Friday, and if you get any of
03:43that sunshine, well, not feeling too bad.
03:45But yeah, they're not especially high for the time of year.
03:50Actually, as we go through the weekend, there's little change really for Sunday.
03:54This front towards the northwest doesn't make a huge amount of progress.
03:57So it's really just across the far northwest of Scotland, maybe a bit more in two parts of Northern Ireland,
04:02and it's not really until later on where it edges a bit further south and eastwards.
04:07Elsewhere across the rest of the UK, there will be some cloud coming through.
04:10There will be a few spells of rain coming up from the south.
04:12None of these look particularly heavy, just some outbreaks of mostly light rain.
04:17And that's kind of the theme that we take into the beginning of next week as well.
04:20But if you need more information about what we can expect through next week, well, make sure you're subscribed to

04:29Bye-bye.
