00:00Good morning. We've made it to Friday and today's weather, well, it's a sort of the opposite to what we
00:06had yesterday.
00:07In as much as yesterday, it was towards the northwest. We had the rain elsewhere. There was lots of dry
00:12and bright weather.
00:13But today it's the other way around. Across much of Scotland, Northern Ireland, we're waking up to clear skies.
00:18It does mean there's a bit of frost here.
00:21Meanwhile, across much of the rest of the country, it's quite cloudy and there's some rain around.
00:26This band of rain running from northern England through Wales towards the southwest.
00:30There is some drier weather across parts of the southeast, but that's also where we have a few pockets of
00:37mist and fog in a few places as well.
00:39Then as we go through the day, the front running from north to southwest, that does actually break up a
00:45little bit.
00:46It eases and so the rain clears away. There was some hill snow this morning. That's clearing away as well.
00:50But then we have further rain coming in from the south. And so pretty much for much of the day,
00:55really, across a large chunk of England and Wales,
00:57it is going to be quite cloudy. And yes, there'll be some rain at times.
01:00The exact position of this feature that comes in, a little bit still to be determined,
01:04but it does look like it's going to spread across some southern and eastern parts as we go through the
01:09afternoon.
01:09Perhaps some sunshine across parts of southwest Wales, maybe Cornwall, but lots of sunshine then across much of Scotland and
01:16also Northern Ireland.
01:17And like I say, a real contrast to what we had yesterday, where here it was pretty cloudy and pretty
01:22wet.
01:22We do have colder air across us, though, so temperatures from many places staying in single figures just towards the
01:28southeast.
01:29Slightly milder air here, and we're looking at highs of 14 or 15 Celsius, but that's a fair few degrees
01:34down compared to what we saw yesterday.
01:36Then later on, we see more cloud and a little bit more rain at times coming up from the south.
01:41So that cloud pushing a bit further northwards, there'll be some rain, perhaps some outbreaks of rain across southwestern parts
01:47and also pushing into Wales.
01:49All the time, Scotland and Northern Ireland stay mostly dry.
01:52There'll be some clear skies just towards the far northwest of Scotland.
01:55Perhaps a bit more cloud building, and there may be some rain arriving.
01:59There is a frontal system waiting to push its way in.
02:02When we get the clearer skies over parts of Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland, there could be a bit of
02:06frost around.
02:07Perhaps not as harsh as the frost that we saw developing last night, but actually across some central southern parts
02:13of Scotland with clearer skies.
02:15And last night here, it's looking, if anything, a little bit chillier towards the south with the cloud, while temperatures
02:21staying that much higher.
02:23Then on Saturday, we have quite a cloudy picture across much of England and Wales again.
02:29A few outbreaks of rain. None of these look especially heavy, but a few spots of rain.
02:33Brighter, sunnier skies across the far north of England, southern and eastern parts of Scotland, but more rain trying to
02:39push its way into the far northwest of Scotland.
02:41It's not going to make much progress, but it does look like there'll be some wetter, blustery weather towards the
02:46far northwest.
02:47Elsewhere, yes, apart from the future as the outbreaks, it's not looking especially wet, largely dry for large chunks of
02:53the country.
02:54Not especially warm, most places getting a few degrees higher than on Friday than today, with temperatures widely into double
03:02figures, perhaps 14, maybe 15 Celsius towards the south yet again.
03:07Jumping ahead to Sunday, and not a huge amount changes in as much as this front is still really just
03:13affecting the far northwest of the UK, far northwest of Scotland.
03:16Maybe just about fringing into parts of Northern Ireland, and maybe a little bit further east and southeastwards, but really
03:22it's sticking here for a little while yet.
03:25Meanwhile, across the rest of the country, we are going to see the cloud spilling its way northwards, so a
03:30cloudier day across southern parts of Scotland, northern England.
03:33A bit of rain pushing through quite likely, and then with that cloud pushing northwards, could be some sunshine breaking
03:38out across particularly some parts of the southeast, maybe far southern counties as well.
03:43So, a greater chance of seeing some blue skies, perhaps, than we actually have through tomorrow for many places around
03:48this area.
03:49And with that, with a bit more sunshine here, it's probably going to feel a little bit warmer temperatures, even
03:53on paper, maybe a degree or so higher here.
03:55And just generally, they're looking quite widely, just about getting into double figures, low teens, really, that kind of thing.
04:01So, obviously, where you have the cloud and the rain, it's not going to feel particularly warm at all, but
04:05yes, where you get that sunshine breaking through, that's going to make all the difference.
04:10More changeable, often quite dry, but more changeable weather to come as we go through next week, but if you

04:18Bye-bye.
