00:00I mean, we heard from the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio yesterday saying the United States had acted,
00:05quote, preemptively because Israel was going to attack Iran anyway.
00:12And then Iran would have attacked U.S. interests once Israel struck.
00:17What do you make of that line of argument?
00:19I can't speak to what was happening behind closed doors.
00:22I don't have the access that I used to.
00:24But it was clear that the U.S. military was preparing for something this large.
00:31So I don't think that they were caught off guard.
00:33And I don't think they got pulled into the conflict at the last minute because of the forces that they
00:37postured in advance.
00:39Unlike last year when the 12-day war happened, the U.S. military almost doubled the amount of air power
00:45it brought in, had significantly more ships, destroyers, had a second aircraft carrier.
00:52And so they were prepared to do a lot more than they had in the past.
00:58I think that's a good indicator that they weren't pulled in at the last minute, but that they had something
01:03in mind of the scale.
01:04It was veryă¨ćăăžă, but that they had something to use symbolization now.
01:04Good to see.
01:05Good to see.
01:07Good to see.
