00:00Hello and good morning. So, you know, I got to jump on the train and I've been on the train,
00:06but it's starting to get a little bit annoying when I go to all these betting sites and these
00:12odd sites and they still are not putting no respect on Jalen Brown's name as MVP. He's still
00:19behind. I want you to see who he's behind when it comes to the odds. Still plus 6,500. Yeah.
00:24Which I got him at plus 8,000. So pretty good. Let's hope that one hits. But he's still behind
00:30SGA who still looks like is the favorite at plus 200. He's behind the Joker who's plus 450. He's
00:38behind Cade Cunningham who's plus 1,000 and he's behind Victor Mwemiama who's plus 2,500. And if
00:43you look at all of those guys, every one of those guys has an all-star caliber player on their
00:48basketball team. When you look at Jalen Brown and the guys that he has surrounding him, we
00:54talk about Nemus Cato who had an unbelievable game last night. Double-double. Double-double.
01:01These guys. Pete Pritch. Pete Pritch who couldn't throw the ball in the ocean and didn't try. But
01:05the point is. Scal. Which, yeah. When you start to look at the guys around him, and I think
01:11Derek White is a good player, but he's not having the year that he's had in years past. And
01:15he's, he wasn't an all-star caliber player. What Jalen Brown has been able to do to elevate
01:21this team to where they are. To 40, what? 40 wins on the season this year. I mean, we
01:27get, yep, 40 wins on the season this year. To be second in the Eastern Conference. And
01:32when you still have guys ahead of them that have these all-star caliber players on their
01:39team. And you're not giving him, and that's what I thought MVP was. Yep. About what you're
01:46able to do for your team and elevate the team around you and where you go, especially
01:54when maybe you don't have the best pieces around you. Well, and it's not just you saying
01:59it. Last week during they said it, we heard Paul Pierce say it. Right. We've heard others
02:03say it. I don't. In a weird way, doesn't this mean Tatum can never get the MVP if both of
02:08them are healthy? Well, I mean, when Tatum was balling, it was, he has too many players
02:15around them. Right. That's what I'm saying. So if Jalen Brown has this ability, then next
02:19year, how could you say Jason Tatum is the most valuable player in the NBA? But why would
02:24you guess he doesn't, why is he not higher odds wise or in the discussion? Like why is
02:31politics? People don't like what he says. Is that what it is? You think? I think it's
02:35that, I mean, remember what Stephen A. Smith said, the rest of the NBA hates him. Yeah.
02:39Like, I think it's just that he's never been a guy that just fits cleanly into a box. Like
02:44he is his own person. He won't change for others. And he's not afraid of maybe ruffle feathers.
02:48Curtis could be right about that. You know, the NBA wants their, wants their MVP or their
02:54face of the league to be safe. Jordan said it. Republicans buy sneakers. You know, they want
02:58it's not, it's not just the, the NBA that votes for it. Like it's fans, media and players
03:04right now. Like, I think that Jalen Brown's respected by other players. Players. Yeah.
03:10Right. But if you're. I think it comes down to the fan situation and fans don't like when
03:14players start talking politics. Right. So that would. Why wasn't Jalen Brown on the Olympic
03:17team? What? Why wasn't Jalen Brown on the Olympic team? Because I think that people don't
03:24like where he stands when he speaks out about politics and sponsors. Exactly. I think
03:29in that case, Steve Kerr probably would have loved to have him on the team.
03:34No, because he, he doesn't assimilate to what you want to do in their, from their perspective
03:39that like everybody had to subjugate themselves on a team USA and they view Jalen Brown as his
03:43own person, not willing to do that. Maybe, you know, and I think the fans go into the fact
03:50of, you know, some of what Curtis is saying, I think it's probably more media people and
03:56the, but the face of the league. And I think some fans look at Jalen and nationally, they
04:03don't give them enough respect because the basketball world doesn't give them that. So
04:08they're like, Oh, Jalen Brown. It was like an afterthought because the basketball world shoves
04:13down our throat. Victim Wambinyama because he's seven foot five inches tall and he plays like
04:19a God. They shove SGA down our throat. They shove Nikola Jokic down our throat, but you
04:25don't get this. You don't get that from Jalen Brown. They're not doing that for him. So
04:30I think that's why that's part of it. And I think a large part of what Curtis is saying
04:35is right. They want the safe dude. And it's a hundred media members that cover the NBA that
04:40vote on the MVP. So that's it. It's not fans, not other players. No. Okay. So there you go.
04:46All right. Wiggy. Great lead. Thank you. Thank you.
