00:00Last chance qualifier. How about Justin Starling with thanks to Rocky Mountain ATV MC, $1,000 going to him in
00:09the privateer payout.
00:11There'll be an additional $1,000 if he can go through to the main event.
00:15Talk about experience. Justin has that. He'll have to get off this gate. We'll see how tricky his track is
00:20and where track position is.
00:22Yeah, the jump's going to be super important too, James, with Justin being on that very inside.
00:29Justin Hill narrowly missed out in his heat. That was a hard-fought battle. So too Mitchell Harrison. Here we
00:34go.
00:35450 last chance qualifier. Hill to the inside and he's going to come out in front.
00:41Great start by Justin. I believe in that heat race. He might have been able to get around Vince. I
00:46believe he was faster, but we know how difficult Vince is to pass.
00:49A lot of experience between both those guys, but Justin did exactly what he needed to.
00:54Grant Harlan there in the second position. He got a great exit of that first corner, and that's what helped
01:01him get to the position where he's at.
01:02Oh, Justin Hill almost goes down.
01:05Look at him. Take that. Ruts getting.
01:06Well, that's what I was talking about. You're going to notice it in these main events.
01:09Guys are going to start hopping out of these ruts early.
01:12They're either going to go to the right or the left to get on some less deep ruts.
01:20Yeah, you can even see it in that split lane. They're going to the inside of the inside there, and
01:25it's starting to get those ruts, and this corner starts going away.
01:29Got to keep chaining up, and it'll continue for the rest of the night.
01:32Grant Harlan, who runs second in this race. He was the rider that went down in his heat.
01:39Ooh.
01:39Meanwhile, flying through on the inside, Mitchell Harrison.
01:42That was a close one.
01:44With some massive speed.
01:45I bet that scared Mitchell when he made that pass because you weren't expecting that to happen.
01:52And Meshi as well.
01:55Inside, look at this. Mitchell Harrison on the inside of Zach Williams.
02:00He is a man on a mission at the moment.
02:03Oh, he ain't playing around. He's making some money moves, but that's how you have to do – that's what
02:07sometimes you have to do in these last-chance qualifiers.
02:10But, I mean, you think of a guy like Mitchell Harrison.
02:13He's got the creds to be able to do that ride like that in the last-chance qualifier.
02:18Will, who you got?
02:21Joey Savacci, master of the heats, Ricky.
02:24Joey, back-to-back second places in heats last weekend, and there's – honestly, the entire season,
02:29when we reflect on the whole thing, just – it's getting stronger and stronger.
02:33You're back healthy now.
02:34I'm clearly loving the Daytona track, so what's the plan here for the main event?
02:38I mean, if we can get another good start, put ourselves in a position to succeed, the track's going to
02:43be tricky tonight.
02:46It's a track that if it's freshly groomed like it was for the heat race, it's pretty simple.
02:51But I know come main event time when there's a lot of laps being turned on it, it's not going
02:55to be so friendly.
02:56So, tonight's going to be all about just trying to get off the gate, put ourselves up front, give ourselves
03:00a chance to do well,
03:02and then from there, really just need to minimize mistakes, understand when the risk is necessary to take it,
03:10and just kind of see where it takes us.
03:11That's something that I've been a little bit better at this year is letting it come to me and making
03:16the adjustments on the fly.
03:17So, you know, my quadlock Honda has been really good, and my guy, Matt, at Active Ride, we have ourselves
03:24in a great place.
03:24So, at this point, it's up to me to go do my job and try to perform.
03:29Thank you so much, Joey.
03:31Everybody's behind you and the team and what you guys are doing this year, so congratulations on the whole season.
03:35Yeah, Joey's looking good.
03:36Will, you need to tell him I changed his last name from Savace to Fosace to when he was looking
03:41at that heat race.
03:42Keep it up.
03:44Hey, look at Justin Starling here on the 124.
03:46He wants that bonus $1,000.
03:47If he can get into the top four, if he can get past Scott Meschi here, that $1,000 is
03:53going to be his.
03:53Nice move.
03:55Nice move right there, RC.
03:56You can see Meschi gets stuck in that run right there.
04:01Oh, tries to go up the inside, make the move back.
04:05This is going to be fun to see how this split lane plays out.
04:10Starling going to have the advantage on the inside here.
04:14Oh, nice pass.
04:16As a rider, you've got to be so disciplined in that area because you want to, when you see the
04:20guy go past you, you want to get on the gas and it's easy to make a mistake.
04:24Both those guys did it, but Meschi was able to get around them.
04:29And then Starling comes back and then they're going to be right there with Mitchell Harrison, who, by the way,
04:35is coming off his best result of the year with a 16th in Arlington.
04:39So he wants to keep that positive momentum going as well.
04:42Well, I mean, these guys have pulled right up to the rear tire.
04:46I've been, oh, Scott Meschi on the inside on the 411.
04:49That was a fantastic pass.
04:54He can hold it.
04:55No, Meschi, if I notice, he's been running these insides, these flat parts really quickly.
05:00That's how he was able to get back Starling there.
05:03So great job, JT.
05:04Yeah, and for Starling, he got a late start to this championship.
05:07He switched to Yamaha for 2026, was trying to get comfortable on it, trying to figure out this new motorcycle.
05:13So he's really kind of new to the settings here.
05:16He's going to try to make another move and get into qualifying position.
05:18But he can tell that extra time that he worked on getting right has really paid off.
05:23This might be two for two for him.
05:24Look at this.
05:24Scott Meschi's not willing to give in on it, though.
05:26He hasn't had a main event in a year.
05:29Arlington last year for Scott Meschi.
05:31So that's why he's fighting so doggedly.
05:33This is a copy and a paste from the last lap.
05:36Yeah.
05:37Meschi's been watching Cooper Webb.
05:38He's like, I'm going to just shorten the racetrack up.
05:40And you can see it.
05:41But that's the best part about Daytona.
05:43This guy's figured out lines, and he's able to keep Justin Starling behind him as he comes up short there.
05:49He closed this door because Justin did really quick right here.
05:53Heads up riding by Justin.
05:55Knew Meschi was going to go to that inside there.
06:00Coming up in our all-access segment, we're going to tell you a little bit more about the Starling family.
06:06Pretty cool story.
06:07So stick around for that as we follow this final transfer position story that has been pretty eventful.
06:15Scott Meschi has shown how serious he is about going through to the main event.
06:20Oh, man, that's such a tough position to be in through the sand.
06:23Great point of view with that drone footage of how hard it is to see the line that you're taking
06:30when the guy in front of you is just absolutely pelting you with roost.
06:34So it's no surprise that some of these guys might get cross-rutted up because of that.
06:40Now, tickets to this year's SMX playoffs are now on sale at supermotocross.com.
06:46You can be there in person for the three historic playoff races in Columbus, Ohio, in Los Angeles,
06:52and the beautiful venue, Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri.

07:02and you can get your tickets for this year's SMX playoffs right now.
07:06Final lap in this 450 last chance qualifier.
07:10Justin Starling takes that, but this is the race leader.
07:13Justin Hill, after narrowly missing out in his heat, has led right from the drop of the gate.
07:19He got a brilliant start, went through that tight right hand to that first turn, and then took off.
07:24No surprise right here.
07:26Justin, one of the most talented guys, him and his brother, Josh Hill, figured he might.
07:31If he got a start, he shouldn't have any problem.
07:33But, you know, going back to Scott Meschi, man, I'm so impressed that this guy and his line selection,
07:39he hopped out of that rut that Ricky was talking about in that off-camber
07:41and really kind of put this race together.
07:45I mean, don't forget, I mean, this guy won a divisional championship for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki.
07:52And he's got style for days.
07:54Yeah, he's got incredible bike skill.
07:57You watch him, like, when he's just having fun.
08:01Oh.
08:03Oh, look at this.
08:04It's not over yet for that final, that fourth and final position.
08:09He's got hops out of that rut.
08:10There you go.
08:11Hopped out.
08:12Going to probably run that inside, so Justin can't do anything.
08:15He's going to have to go for a wholesale move, but he ain't going to be able to even do
08:19that if you don't get closer.
08:20Top box.
08:22Justin Hill gets the win.
08:23There's been some big names in the LCQs this year, like Aaron Klesinger and Shane McElrath.
08:29That's Justin's second win in the LCQ, by the way.
08:32There we go.
08:33Scott Meschi, first main in a year.
08:35And that was hard fought and hard earned.
08:39That was awesome right there.
08:40Great job, man.
08:42Good job, man.
