00:50everybody's staying up gets a little tricky especially when you get into these fast rhythm sections, but

01:01Just position alone. It's so important, but at the same time you got to ride so defensive
01:07Very very hard and difficult here in these last chance qualifiers a lot on the line
01:18Pretty surprised at how this split lanes worked out. It does seem like it's
01:2250-50 for the most part. Yeah, I actually I mean again as I mentioned earlier. I like the way
01:28this track is
01:28Racing, I mean that sand section is difficult
01:31But everywhere else you if you're inside the guy has options to get down with these long rhythm section
01:37It's run through the wolves right here landed hearts leads the way he got that great start you saw him
01:41into that first right-hander and then just took off
01:49Luke nice won the first last chance qualifier last weekend in Arlington for the 250 East division championship
01:57This sand will start to get a little bit easier as the night goes on
02:02especially we get into the main just because it kind of gets down into that black dirt, which is a
02:07Bit harder not as loose not as soft and the line becomes more established as well
02:12Yeah, I mean it won't open up any more passing
02:15But like you said you'll you'll see less mistakes from these guys through there because there'd be more traction
02:22Jeremy had and Brighton Carroll having a good scrap
02:26For second place at the moment and Henry Miller has just moved his way into the top four. So that's
02:32that all-important
02:33Fourth and final transfer position. There is Henry left of screen. I was thinking to myself with somebody's ruts
02:39It looks like these guys are disappearing especially now an off-camber right there, but
02:43Yeah, just getting deeper and deeper and it seems like there's no bottom to a lot of these parts of
02:48the racetrack just keeps going down
02:51Marshall Welton is making some good progress here
02:54He is talk to him in the airport last week flying home from Dallas and he got caught up in
03:00the main event with all those star guys and
03:02Punctured his radiator so it wasn't able to finish that main event, but
03:08Starting to see that run getting in the middle of those whoops
03:11He's about two seconds behind him and he's got actually plenty of time
03:15I know that the clock is showing but because of these guys are all bunched up be easy for one
03:20guy to make a mistake and they'll lose a lot of time
03:22Which will bring in Welton in here. So he just got to stay patient try to slowly get up there
03:27I'm sure those guys will come back to him. Yeah, and another thing that can work in your
03:32Favor here at Daytona because these lap times are so much longer. It gives you a little
03:36A little extra time to say on a one-lap scenario instead of 40 seconds
03:41You got to you know a minute and 25 seconds, which is a helm especially in these last chance qualifiers

03:47As we see second third and fourth here having a really good scrap. How about our race leader on the

03:56As a 53 of Henry Miller is putting extra pressure on Brighton Carroll go back to Landon hearts the rider
04:02out of Alabama
04:03Who made his debut last weekend is leading by more than two and a half seconds?
04:09It's only a minute 22 left in this race and in just his second weekend. He could go straight through
04:14to the main event. That's pretty cool story
04:17especially here
04:19It's like the Miller gets up the inside of Carroll and these guys are actually doing a pretty good job
04:25at not slowing each other down
04:26I mean there he did but
04:29Keeping Marshall behind him still pretty good and James
04:32I think one of the differences is why you know
04:34They aren't slowing each other down when they get bunched up compared to what we normally see a supercross is
04:39because like you've been talking about
04:41There's just more room here more space in general when we come here to Daytona
04:46So again, it doesn't get jammed up and you can kind of maintain that gap in front of your competitors
04:52in a race situation while about it

04:59As we say that we see Marshall close up quite a bit

05:04I kind of expect that to happen to me and Marshall's a great rider

05:10I want you to take notice of how a lot of guys are taking the inside you can see that

05:16James talked about a little earlier in the broadcast guys are gonna start popping out of the ruts earlier to
05:22get on some fresh dirt
05:23Yeah, and the reason you're gonna want to do that
05:25It's because this gets so deep and it catches their foot peg and that's those guys leaned over on that

05:30The legs ain't long enough. They end up falling over
05:33Got this the guys in the lead right here. JT. Yeah, he's our friend
05:36And you know, I was thinking about that smx next race that just went out there
05:40There's so many guys that have factory support a guy like dink and deno on that triumph team
05:44Well, this guy right here is also an smx next graduate
05:48I watched him battling trying to get up on that podium, but he was a relative unknown
05:52He wasn't on monster yamaha star racing, but here he is in his second attempt
05:57So I think it just proves what smx next was designed to do prepare these riders
06:03So whether they have factory support or not
06:05They can take the step and jump right into a position just like you see when it hearts in yeah
06:11He had a top three glendale last year. He finished eighth here in daytona and smx last year
06:17But to be leading and have a chance to go through to a main event is a big time opportunity
06:22Yeah, and I'd like to expand on what jt said and I actually want to ask you this

06:30How you felt your first year of supercross compared to when you came back for your second year?
06:34Like how much more comfortable you felt?
