00:00How about the involvement of Tiger?
00:02I saw him at the Genesis talk about his involvement.
00:05He is really involved, especially in the scheduling for 2027.
00:09There's going to be something, I guess, released over the next couple months here.
00:13Tiger said that they're working diligently on what that schedule is going to look like.
00:17His involvement in, he's really taken a centerpiece step in being the front man for this.
00:23What's the impact of having Tiger out front of the PGA Tour now?
00:27You know, he's the big cat, you know.
00:29I mean, he's the biggest name in the game.
00:31And Tiger is on what they call the Future Competitions Committee, the FCC.
00:36And that was something created by the new PGA Tour CEO, Brian Rolap, who came over from the NFL where
00:43he was number two.
00:44And he has been very frank about saying that he's going to, going forward, he's going to respect traditions, but
00:52he's not going to be a slave to it.
00:54So I think things are really going to change.
00:55I mentioned this before.
00:56You're going to see fewer tournaments.
00:58And I think just my personal opinion is that one of the problems that the PGA Tour had was that
01:05they just had too many tournaments.
01:06There was no reason to care as much as they were putting on.
01:11Golf became tennis.
01:12It used to be that golf started in January and ended in August with the PGA Championship.
01:19And then the fall was what we used to call the silly season.
01:22But, you know, if you want, it's basic economic theory.
01:25If you want to make something more valuable, you don't make more of it.
01:28You make less of it.
01:29And I think that that's the tour is moving in that direction.
01:31And Tiger's at the forefront.
01:33You know, he obviously cares an awful lot about this.
01:36It's a way for him to stay engaged when he's not competitive anymore.
01:40Certainly not on the PGA Tour.
01:41We'll see this year, of course, he turned 50, and he's eligible to play senior golf, which is just 54
01:47holes, with the exception of the senior majors.
01:50And he can ride a cart.
01:51So it'll be interesting to see.
01:52And we'll see if he shows up at Augusta.
01:54I know he'd love to, but to be determined.
01:57Who do you think some of the favorites are going into Augusta in early part of April?
02:03You know, I think, what was the moon, excuse me, what was the line from Casablanca?
02:08Round up the usual suspects.
02:11I got to think that Rory is a favorite, defending champion.
02:15That monkey's off his back now.
02:17He won his Masters last year, career grand slam.
02:20I got to think he's going to be pretty comfortable there.
02:23That play suits him so well.
02:25Drives it a mile, has a lot of experience.
02:29You know, and Scheffler, I mean, put them 1 and 1A.
02:33And I would imagine if you go on all the betting sites, that's what you're going to see.
02:37Jimmy, do you think Tiger will ever get to being an official starter at the Augusta National?
02:44Do you think he's looking forward to that?
02:48Listen, the Tiger I know has no interest in being a ceremonial guy.
02:52Now, that said, the Jack that I knew back when he was playing, I would have probably said the same
02:58thing about it.
02:59You know, the older we get, the more things change, and the more things change that we didn't see coming.
03:04Who knows?
03:05But right now, the Tiger I know, it'd be hard for me to imagine that.
03:08Thank you so much.
