00:00Champions dinner last night. Par three tournament today. Major championship starts tomorrow.
00:05Usually that entails Tiger Woods or at least some Tiger Woods talk. Let's hear from some of the
00:09players at Augusta National talking Tiger. It just shows the human element and the human side of
00:16someone that is struggling with some sort of an addiction and he's not immune to it just because
00:22he can hit a golf ball really well. He's had 25 to 30 something surgeries and when you're going
00:29through that many procedures it's painful coming out of those procedures. I've had procedures done
00:35and I typically try and stay away from that all that stuff because I just know that it's
00:40yeah painkillers. There can potentially be a downfall to it. Now granted like he's
00:47like when I look at that I look at it and go he's just a human being like everyone else
00:52and we have
00:52struggles and it's unfortunate. The only thing that I would you know that I don't understand
00:58is that it's a little bit selfish of him to drive and put other people that you know in harm's
01:04way
01:04as well. But when you're the player that he was and how strong-willed he is he thinks he can
01:12do almost anything and that's probably why he's probably driving and and a little bit under the
01:17influence. It is he was my hero he's my hero you know he was my hero growing up. The reason
01:22why I
01:23play golf is because of this tournament and Tiger and you know it's it's hard to see him go through
01:30what he's going through and especially under the microscope that it must be hard to be who he is
01:37and have everything everyone look on it like down kind of down on him and and some people want him
01:44to fail some people obviously want him to succeed and it's just it's really difficult for me to to go
01:49through that and watch him and I know that he's getting the help now which is good. I'm just hoping
01:55he comes out on the other side and he's better. He's such a legend in this game somebody who I
01:59looked up to and watching him went around this place in 97 is kind of the reason why I started
02:04getting into golf. I know he's going to get through this I know he's got a big fight ahead of
02:09him and
02:11he's a fighter that's what he does and he's going to get through it and come out a better man
02:16and a
02:16better person and we we hope to see him soon. I've always been in his ear I've always been I
02:21told him
02:22that I wanted to be here for his next major. I was here in 19 we were in the we
02:27were in the
02:28champions locker and I made a lot of the champions come down to congratulate him. That was very
02:34emotional and I told him from day one that we started hanging out back in 06 07 somewhere in there
02:40that I would I'm pulling for him as a as a human being forget his golf I could care less
02:44about his golf
02:45um and so anybody that's struggling with anything I I feel for him because I've went through a lot
02:52of mental stuff um so yeah I I always pull for him I don't have his phone number anymore
02:57uh he blocks me because I make I make fun of him all the time but um but yes when
03:02we were on the
03:03Ryder Cup um Captain C together um he told me how much that meant that I was here in 19
03:08I mean sorry
03:08when I was here in 19 he was he was the next week after he won he was um very
03:14appreciative that I was
03:15here and I told him I'd be here for the major so nothing but love for him and hopefully he
03:19can um come back
03:20stronger. I think everybody's um has a very soft heart for Tiger he's he's been the the guy for our
03:28game
03:28that's changed everything the most he's he's made these tournaments what they are he's made um the
03:34purses what they are just by his popularity and um everybody loved watching him I grew up watching
03:39Tiger he was you know my golf idol so I think everybody's um thinking about him and hoping he
03:44can do do what's best. With Tiger I mean I think everyone is probably in the same boat that they're
03:50just uh you know very grateful that he's okay and that everyone else that was involved is okay and
03:54you know hopefully um you know he's able to kind of get speed recovery and get back here to golf
04:01as fast
04:01as he can because uh let's be honest I mean without uh Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson and
04:06in the events and in golf when they both step away it obviously you know I feel like hurts the
04:12game of
04:12golf but at the same time I mean we want them to come back and be back healthy and ready
04:16to go.
04:16I probably won't see him for a few months and then uh if he comes back or when he comes
04:24back
04:24you know hopefully we can keep in touch but it's a very interesting you know subject for me um
04:30people always ask me about Tiger. I I when I text him I always ask about his kids and how
04:38he's
04:38feeling. I don't ask him about his golf game. I don't ask him about Sunday Red. I don't ask him
04:44about anything and so he always replies and I think he likes that. So for me now to get involved
04:50with
04:51this would would not make much sense. Doesn't mean um I'm not paying attention to what he's doing but
04:57for me it's it's a we're completely different people. We're we're more uh online with I have a
05:04lot of respect for him and if I could spend a week with him I might enjoy that more than
05:12he would
05:13if that makes any sense. You know because I being around him is a treat for me.
05:19There you go Tiger Woods being treated like a uh what Vietnam veteran here that lost his leg and
05:25has six service medals. Hopefully he comes back and he's better off at this point right now.
05:29Golfers love him there's no doubt no matter what Tiger does he can do no wrong in their eyes.
05:34The sucking up there was just nauseating on so many different levels like my the guy is in Tahiti
05:41right now on a beach uh on some sort of private med spa and you guys are acting like he's
05:48like please
05:49stop it yeah he'll be back no problem he's just basically out of the limelight right now which is
05:56exactly where he needs to be why they do PR damage here but wow the I mean that eulogy it
06:02might as well
06:03been a eulogy from all those guys. Unreal to me man really.
