01:56there are some hypocrites among the people who say we believe in allah but when they are made to suffer
02:03in the cause of allah
02:04they regard the persecution by people as if it were the punishment from allah
02:12yet if help comes from your lord and he gives you victory they are sure to say of course we
02:21were with you
02:23we should also have a share in it
02:27why does not allah know well enough what lies hidden in the hearts of all beings
02:33indeed
02:34allah will bring to light those who believe
02:37and he will also reveal the hypocrites
02:41and those who disbelieve say to those who believe
02:45follow our way
02:47and we will bear the consequences of your sins at the time of judgment
02:51whereas
02:52they can bear nothing whatsoever of their sins
02:56they are as a matter of fact
02:59liars
03:01on the other hand
03:02they will certainly have to bear the burdens of their own sins
03:06as well as some burdens of leading others astray
03:10over and above their own burdens
03:12and they will be questioned on the day of resurrection
03:15about the lies that they used to fabricate
03:19and we indeed sent noah to his people
03:23and he his teachings
03:25stayed among them for as long as a thousand years short of fifty years
03:31while his people were steeped in wrongdoings
03:34they were caught in the deluge
03:37however
03:37we delivered him
03:39and along with him all
03:41those who were in the ark
03:44and we made this event
03:46a sign for the peoples
03:49and we sent abraham
03:52recall the time when he said to his people
03:54worship allah and take him as a shield
03:58that is best for you
04:00if you but knew
04:02the things you worship apart from allah
04:05are only false gods
04:06and in calling them gods
04:08you forge lies
04:10those gods
04:11whom you worship
04:13besides allah
04:14do not have the means
04:16to provide sustenance for you
04:17therefore
04:19seek sustenance and provision
04:21for yourselves from allah
04:23and worship him
04:24and give thanks
04:25for you will be brought back to him one day
04:29and if you deny me
04:31then you should not forget
04:33that people before you
04:35have also cried lies
04:37to their respective messengers
04:38and the messenger is responsible
04:41only for conveying the divine message
04:43to the people
04:44in clear terms
04:46do the people not ever consider
04:49how allah originates the creation
04:51then continues repeating and reproducing it
04:55this work of creation and reproduction
04:58is indeed easy for allah
05:02say
05:02travels through the earth
05:05and observe how he brought about the first creation
05:08allah will as well bring about the second creation in the hereafter
05:14verily
05:15allah is possessor
05:16of prudential powers
05:18over all his desired things
05:21he punishes whom he will
05:23of the guilty
05:24and shows mercy
05:26to whom he will
05:27and to him
05:28you shall have to be turned back
05:31you cannot escape him
05:33on the earth
05:33or in the heaven
05:35and you have no patron
05:37nor even a helper
05:38apart from allah
05:41and those who deny the signs of allah
05:44and deny
05:45that they will meet him
05:47are actually despaired of my mercy
05:50it is they for whom awaits a grievous punishment
05:55his people had no response to make to abraham
05:58but they said
06:00kill him
06:01or rather burn him
06:03but allah delivered him from the fire
06:06there are sure signs in this episode
06:10for the people who would believe
06:13abraham said
06:15you have certainly taken for yourselves
06:18idols for worship
06:19apart from allah
06:21as a mark of mutual love
06:23between you all
06:25polytheist brethren
06:26in the present life
06:27but on the day of resurrection
06:30you will disown one another
06:32and curse one another
06:34and your resort will be the fire
06:36and you will have none to help you
06:40and lot became a believer because of him
06:43and abraham said
06:45i shall migrate
06:46where i have been commanded to by my lord
06:49he is the almighty
06:50the all-wise
06:53and we bestowed on him
06:55righteous offsprings
06:57isaac a son
06:59and jacob a grandson
07:01and we perpetuated the gift of prophethood
07:05and the scripture in his descendants
07:08and we gave him his reward in this life
07:11and he will most surely occupy an eminent place
07:16among the righteous in the hereafter
07:19and we sent lot
07:20behold he said to his people
07:23you indulge in such an obscenity
07:27as is unprecedented and unsurpassed in the whole world
07:31is it not true
07:33you approach men
07:34lustfully
07:35and commit highway robbery
07:38is it not true also
07:40you commit indecent action in your gatherings
07:44but his people had no response to make
07:47yet they said
07:49bring upon us the punishment of allah
07:52if you are of those who speak the truth
07:57thereupon
07:57lot said
07:58help me my lord
08:00against these people who work corruption
08:06and when our messengers came to abraham
08:08with important news
08:10they said
08:11we are going to destroy people of this township
08:14for its inhabitants are certainly wrongdoers
08:17abraham said
08:19but lot is living there in that township
08:22they said
08:23we know very well
08:25who are living in it
08:26we will surely save him and his family
08:29except his wife
08:31who is among those who stay behind
08:34and when our messengers came to lot
08:37he felt distressed on account of their coming
08:40for he felt helpless to give them protection
08:43but they the messenger said
08:46have no fear
08:48and do not grieve
08:50allah promises you protection
08:52saying
08:53we will deliver you
08:55and all your household
08:56except your wife
08:58who will not leave the place stricken with calamity
09:02and who is among those
09:04staying behind
09:06as for the inhabitants of this township
09:09we are going to bring down upon them
09:12an unavoidable calamity
09:13for they have been behaving disobediently
09:18behold
09:19we have left there
09:21in the ruins of this township
09:23a clear sign for a people
09:25who would care to understand
09:28and to midianites
09:29we sent their kinsman
09:31Shu'aib
09:32he said
09:33my people
09:35worship Allah
09:36and hope
09:38putting your faithful confidence in it
09:41for the last day
09:42and do not act corruptly
09:45behaving lawlessly in the country
09:48but instead of obeying him
09:51they cried him lies
09:53so they were caught in a violent earthquake
09:56and they became corpses
09:58laid down on their chests
10:00on the ground
10:01in their dwellings
10:04and we destroyed the tribes of Ad and Thamud
10:08and this must have become clear to you
10:11from their dwellings
10:12Satan made their evil deeds
10:15fair seeming to them
10:16and by making them take pride in their doings
10:19turned them away from the right way
10:21though they were enlightened
10:23and sagacious people
10:26and similar was the fate met by Korah
10:29Pharaoh
10:30and Haman
10:32Moses had come to them
10:34with manifest signs
10:36but they behaved arrogantly on the earth
10:39yet they could not outstrip us
10:42and thus escape our punishment
10:45in short
10:46we took each of them to task for his sins
10:49against some of them
10:52we sent a violent storm of sand and stones
10:55while others were overtaken by a roaring blast
10:59and some others we made extinct
11:01in the bowels of the earth
11:02and yet others we drowned
11:04it was far from Allah
11:07to have done injustice to them
11:09rather they were doing wrong to themselves
11:13the case of those who take
11:15helping friends apart from Allah
11:17is like the case of the spider
11:20that takes to itself a house
11:22yet of all houses
11:24the house of the spider
11:26is the frailest
11:27if they but knew
11:29the flimsiness
11:30and fragility
11:31of their idols
11:32they would not have sought
11:34their protection
11:36verily
11:37Allah knows
11:38whatever they call upon
11:39apart from him
11:40he is the almighty
11:42the all wise
11:45these are the various situations
11:47which we set forth
11:49for the benefit of humankind
11:50yet except for the learned
11:53nobody tries to grasp them
11:58Allah has created the heavens
12:00and the earth
12:01to suit the requirements
12:03of truth and wisdom
12:04and for a significant end
12:07in this
12:08there is in fact
12:10a great sign for the believers
12:14recite
12:15preach
12:16follow and meditate
12:18on that which has been revealed
12:20to you of the book
12:21and observe prayer
12:23verily
12:24prayer restrains
12:25the observer
12:26from indecency
12:27and abominable things
12:28and loathsome deeds
12:30and from all that
12:32runs counter to reason
12:34and moral sense
12:36yet of all
12:37the greatest thing
12:39is that Allah
12:40will remember you
12:41and help you rise
12:42to eminence
12:43and Allah knows
12:44all that you do
12:46believers
12:47observe all the propriety
12:50when you argue
12:52when you argue with the people
12:52of the scripture
12:53but those who are bent
12:55upon behaving unjustly
12:56among them
12:57do not agree
12:58to these principles
12:59so deal with them
13:01accordingly
13:02and say to them
13:04we believe in all
13:05that is revealed to us
13:07and in that which
13:08has been revealed
13:09to you
13:10and our God
13:11and your God
13:13is one
13:13and to him
13:15we stand
13:16resigned
13:18and for a similar purpose
13:20of confirming
13:20and testifying
13:21to the truth
13:22of all previous scriptures
13:23have we sent
13:25down to you
13:25this perfect book
13:27and those
13:29whom we have given
13:30the true knowledge
13:30of the book
13:31the Torah
13:31believe in it
13:33and of these
13:34Meccans who possessed
13:36no sacred scriptures
13:37before
13:37there are some
13:39who believe in it
13:40the Quran
13:40and it is only
13:42the ungrateful
13:43disbelievers
13:44who deny
13:45our revelations
13:46deliberately
13:46and persistently
13:49Prophet
13:49you read no book
13:52nor did you write one
13:54with your own hand
13:55before this
13:55had it been so
13:57those who declare it
13:59as false
13:59could then have the cause
14:01to entertain
14:02some doubts
14:04nay
14:04far from being
14:06an invention
14:07this Quran
14:08is full of clear signs
14:10in the minds
14:10of those
14:11who have been
14:11given true knowledge
14:12it is only
14:14the unjust
14:15indeed
14:15who deny
14:17our signs
14:18deliberately
14:19and they say
14:20why have no
14:22signs of punishment
14:23been revealed
14:24to him
14:24from his Lord
14:25say to them
14:26the signs
14:27are many
14:28with Allah
14:29accordingly
14:30I am about
14:31to give you
14:32plain warning
14:33concerning
14:34some of the
14:34signs of punishment
14:36well
14:37is this
14:38sign of mercy
14:39not enough
14:40for them
14:41that we have
14:42revealed to you
14:43this perfect book
14:44which is recited
14:45to them
14:46as a matter
14:47of fact
14:47it comprises
14:48mercy
14:49and blessings
14:50and is a means
14:51to rise
14:52to eminence
14:53for the people
14:53who would believe
14:55say
14:57sufficient
14:58is Allah
14:58as a witness
14:59between me
15:00and you
15:01he knows
15:02all that lies
15:03in the heavens
15:03and on the earth
15:05and lost
15:06are those
15:06who believe
15:07in falsehood
15:08and disbelieve
15:09in Allah
15:09they demand
15:11you to
15:12precipitate
15:12the sign
15:13of their punishment
15:14had not
15:15their term
15:16been stated
15:17as a respite
15:18to mend
15:19their evil ways
15:20the punishment
15:21would surely
15:22have come upon
15:23them

15:25and will befall

15:29unawares
15:31they still
15:32demand

15:33precipitate

16:17chambers
16:17of paradise

16:24shall abide

16:25the reward
16:27of those
16:27who take
16:27pains
16:28for doing
16:28good
16:29is always
16:30excellent
16:32those who
16:32patiently
16:33persevere
16:34and put
16:34their trust
16:35in their
16:35Lord
16:37how many
16:38moving
16:38creatures
16:39there are
16:39that do
16:40not carry
16:41their own
16:41sustenance
16:42but do
16:43not go
16:44without food
16:44it is
16:46Allah
16:46who provides
16:47for them
16:48and for you
16:49and he
16:50is the
16:50all hearing
