00:03Hey, it's People in Time. The Backers are getting a lot of buzz and it's not about who took home
00:08awards. Both they and the BBC issued an apology this week after Tourette's advocate John Davidson
00:14yelled the N-word while Sinner stars Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were on stage and they
00:19left it in the broadcast which aired on a two-hour delay. John's story is the premise for the film
00:24I swear which won a Best Actor award for its star Robert R. Mayo. John has since indicated he reached
00:30out to the Sinners team to apologize and said he's deeply mortified if anyone considers his tics to be
00:35intentional. But people are still upset about how it was handled calling out BAFTA for not doing enough
00:43and wondering why John was seated where he was. Also like maybe an apology immediately after the
00:49incident which did not happen from the looks of it. The Prince and Princess of Wales are
00:54saying mom on the future of the crown amid ex-Prince Andrew's arrest last week. The couple
00:59were also at the BAFTAs on Sunday with Kate looking gorgeous in this archived Gucci gown from 2019.
01:05But there was some awkward silence on the carpet after they were asked is the monarchy in peril?
01:10Not only was this their first public appearance since Andrew's arrest it was their first time at
01:14the awards together in three years. That's following Kate's cancer diagnosis and treatment so I'm sure
01:20they're probably wishing the focus was on them not his uncle. The Olympics are officially over but
01:26we'll never forget the good times or this year's golden girl Alyssa Liu from her ability to look on
01:32the bright side to her laid back approach to a high-stakes sport. Sometimes taking a step back is what's
01:37needed to see the full picture. And then there was her sweet support for her competitor Ani Nakai of Japan.
01:43She's like just so cute she's so like happy on the ice so I was like I gotta celebrate like
01:49she did so
01:49good. Her free skate routine absolutely brought the house down and secured her the first US women's
01:56victory in the sport since 2002. Alyssa you make America proud. You go girl. And the US men's hockey
02:04team attended the State of the Union on Tuesday night. They were excited to be invited to the Capitol
02:09and the White House according to Jack Hughes. But the women's team was notably missing and that's
02:13because they turned down the invite. They say because of scheduling but there's speculation it
02:18was over Trump mocking them during his locker room call to the male athletes following their historic
02:23win against Canada. So a snub for a snub? Just a reminder that the women's team has medaled in
02:28every Olympics they've been to so it'd be a privilege to have them. At least Flave of Flave got the
02:33memo.
02:35Nick Reiner headed to court this week where he pleaded not guilty to two counts of first degree
02:39murder. He's accused of killing his parents Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner who were found
02:44stabbed to death in their LA home back in December. Prosecutors alleged knife was used though their
02:49autopsies are not yet complete. If convicted Nick could face life in prison even the death penalty.
02:54He appeared alongside his public defender as he was denied bail and waved his right to a speedy trial.
02:59His next court date is set for April. As the search for Nancy Guthrie extends to almost a month
03:05her family is recognizing that they may not get the outcome they've been hoping for.
03:10She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves
03:18and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother Pierce
03:26and with our daddy. In a new video pleading for Nancy's return Savannah went on if this is what
03:32is to be then we will accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to
03:39come home.
03:40And that's why she and her family are increasing the reward for info leading to Nancy's whereabouts
03:45or an arrest. They're also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
03:51because they know they're not alone in their loss. We are hoping that the attention that has been given
03:57to our mom and our family will extend to all the families like ours who are in need.
04:04In the midst of all this tough news, Jack Black gave us a reminder of something beautiful.
04:10He's celebrating 20 years married and posted a bunch of sweet family moments including old photos of him
04:15and Tanya laughing together and they're now teenage sons as little kids. Fun fact, they first met each
04:20other as teenagers but didn't connect romantically until much later. And the rest, as they say,
04:26is history. Lily Collins has taken on a major new role in a new movie about the making of Breakfast
04:32at Tiffany's. Don't you just love it? Love what? Tiffany's. It's based on a non-fiction book and Lily
04:38will play Audrey Hepburn. She shared her excitement on Instagram calling it a long time dream. But reaction
04:44online has been mixed. Some users say she looks the part and are excited about the casting while
04:50others feel she doesn't exactly capture Audrey's essence. I guess only time will tell.
04:56Hillary does getting honest with her take on that whole toxic mom group controversy.
05:00I honestly felt really sad.
05:02She also felt used by the allegations, which came from Ashley Tisdell's essay against her
05:07former group of mom friends. Ashley didn't name names but many speculated that group included Hillary,
05:13Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor.
05:14I just was like, whoa, it sucks to read something that's like not true. And it sucks on behalf of
05:22like six women in all of their lives. But she was also amused when her hubby Matthew Coma chimed in.
05:28Everything he does makes me laugh. He is so like fierce for me. And like, I love him for that.
05:39Now it's a sit down with Nate Barghese. Hi, Nate. You have a new game show, The Greatest Average
05:44American. Not only are you hosting, but you co-created it. Are you a big game show guy?
05:49You know, I mean, I like game shows. I don't know if I was a giant game show. Like, you
05:55know,
05:55I like them, I think like everybody else. I just like creating things that are, and I really wanted
06:00to involve an audience. I wanted to make something for people to watch. You know, doing standup,
06:06I love doing shows to be in front of people and to create things and be fun and funny and
06:10silly. And, you know, I had this idea kind of pop in my head. And then, uh, I, I got
06:15with John Quinn
06:16and who's, uh, created a lot of game shows. And so it just kind of went rolling from there.
06:22Who reads the encyclopedia? I read it every day.
06:26You've stated that you're stepping away from standup to focus on the silver screen.
06:30Plus you have this game show and an amusement park in the horizon. You're doing a lot.
06:35Right. Yes. I, I like experience. I love, uh, I think you learn the most from experience. So I
06:41kind of want to, uh, dabble in everything, like create all these kinds of things. So I've been
06:46there and I've done that. And then, so I think of it as the older I get and, you know,
06:51I'm not
06:51quitting standup right now. And I, there's good, I have this tour, we're doing another tour, like,
06:55but you know, there, there's going to be a point where it's going to get hard to travel on the
06:59road.
07:00And, uh, as we're creating so much stuff and making these movies and then the net, I want
07:05to go help find the next generation of comedians or actors or whoever, anybody to create writers,
07:11all of this. And I at least want to be able to stand there and tell them that I have
07:15done
07:15what they're, what I'm asking them to do. Makes it look so easy, but it's so hard.
07:21What is one way you keep your daughter Harper average, AKA a normal kiddo?
07:26Well, I don't read in front of her. That's a big one. And then we, you know, big part,
07:34I moved back to Nashville, uh, you know, about like 10 years ago and I wasn't, I was doing comedy.
07:39I wasn't, obviously I wasn't where I'm at right now. And I mean, her grandfather is a magician.
07:45So, so as average as it can be, but we live in a great neighborhood. We're in a cul-de
07:50-sac.
07:50It's no one's, uh, really an entertainment that's in there. It's, uh, people that have regular jobs and,
07:57you know, are friends. And so every, everything she's around now is kind of like, she's not around
08:04this. She knows I do it. I have her with my specials introduced me. She's sees sites of it.
08:11Uh, but overall, you know, she's going to school and I specifically moved home for her for that.
08:19I wanted her not to, uh, just be involved around kind of, uh, all of this. And then,
08:26and then if she ever wanted to do it, it's like on her own, it's her call.
08:30Okay. To end the show, we're going to put 10 seconds on the clock, promote anything you want.
08:34Ready? Go.
08:36We have the greatest ads in America. And then we have the movie,
08:39the breadwinner going to come out later. Uh, hopefully I get to continue to make more stuff.
08:44Nate, thank you so much for dropping by today.
08:47Yeah. Thank you so much.
