00:00The U.S. Customs Agency says it will stop collecting certain tariffs
00:05imposed by President Donald Trump just after midnight on Tuesday.
00:10The move follows a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that declared those tariffs illegal.
00:18The agency said it will switch off the measures linked to President Donald Trump's use of
00:23emergency economic powers, also known as the IEPA.
00:27However, the decision to halt these collections comes alongside Trump's rollout of a fresh
00:3215% global tariff under a separate legal authority, intended to replace the duties
00:38invalidated by the Supreme Court last week.
00:41The Customs Agency has not said whether importers will receive refunds.
00:45The collection will not affect any other tariffs imposed by Trump,
00:49including those under national security and unfair trade practices statutes.
