00:02FedEx sued the U.S. government on Monday, seeking a full refund of tariffs imposed last year by
00:08Trump that the Supreme Court ruled illegal, according to CNBC. FedEx appears to be the
00:13first major U.S. company to seek a tariff refund after Friday's Supreme Court ruling,
00:18while other companies filed refund lawsuits before the court's ruling.
00:21The Supreme Court ruled Friday that those tariffs were illegal and said the U.S. Court
00:25of International Trade has exclusive jurisdiction. FedEx filed its lawsuit in that court in New
00:30York. The 11-page complaint names U.S. Customs and Border Protection, its Commissioner Rodney
00:36Scott, and the U.S. government as defendants. The suit does not disclose the amount paid in
00:41IEPA duties. In September, FedEx said U.S. trade policies would reduce fiscal year earnings by
00:47$1 billion, or 16% of the prior year's total. For all things money, visit Benzinga.com.
