00:00Clint, I could tell yesterday you were getting a little frustrated with the offensive line praise and everything that happened
00:09last year going into this year.
00:11And it seems like we're here again, that the offensive line is the big question mark, is the big conversation
00:20piece.
00:20And you started to get a little bit annoyed yesterday.
00:25Well, I think I'm just annoyed with, I told everybody for two years, like, yes, the offensive line can be
00:33better, but your quarterback and your play caller have to be better and have answers and react different and play
00:38a certain brand and everything around them will get better.
00:41Like I said that from jump.
00:43So I've been dealing with this over an extended period of time.
00:46I'm just tired of the big fellas catching all the negativity, catching all the bad stuff.
00:53I mean, here's the thing.
00:56I read, I see something today.
00:58First of all, I listen to every conversation about the draft.
01:00You got to draft a tackle.
01:01You got to draft a guard.
01:03You got to, no, they don't have nothing, right?
01:05Let's get, let's get some, but they don't have to do it.
01:08They don't have to do a damn thing.
01:08They don't have to do a damn thing with their offensive line, right?
01:12I don't, I don't believe Nick Casario.
01:14I can't believe Nick Casario got up there after the season.
01:17And in response to the questions about CJ Stroud repeatedly said, we had a team good enough to win it
01:22all.
01:22Ultimately I'm paraphrasing a bit.
01:24I don't agree with that.
01:26Right.
01:26I agree.
01:27There are places that you need to upgrade and you can upgrade.
01:33I'm not above having a conversation about the offensive line.
01:36You can upgrade this.
01:37You can upgrade that.
01:37But the, the need and the immediate mention of offensive line, when you talk about where
01:44and how this team has to get better, I'm exhausted with, you know, you don't think it's a has to.
01:53No, no, absolutely not.
01:55I mean, look, they got to do something to tackle because Trent Brown's a free agent, right?
01:59They got to do something to guard because Ed Ingram's, Ed Ingram's a free agent, but, but
02:03to, to, to think that they couldn't go re-up Trent Brown, re-up Ed Ingram and, and, and let's
02:08ride,
02:09maybe draft a guy here or there, maybe pick up a free agent somewhere as, as teams, all teams do.
02:13And boom, let's ride like that.
02:16That's a typical off season for a team.
02:19It's the, it's the immediate boy.
02:22The Texans were, were, were a disaster on offense, which I think is an overreaction, but they were obviously when
02:28we last saw them,
02:29but you got to fix the offensive line.
02:31You got to do this.
02:32You got to do that.
02:32Look, man, the, the, I read an article from, on Fox sports and it says the one thing that
02:40every team in the AFC needs to do this off season, right?
02:45Houston Texans, can they get some protection for QB CJ Stroud?
02:50And then they go on to say this right here.
02:53The Texans overhauled their O-line last off season and the results were mixed.
02:57Stroud sack numbers were greatly reduced.
03:01What else do you want them to do?
03:03You took, you took a quarterback that was the most pressured quarterback in the league and the second most hit
03:10quarterback in the league.
03:11And you drastically reduced the sack numbers.
03:14Now, again, I don't think the offensive line played great.
03:17I think CJ Stroud and Nick Kaley and the approach offensively had a lot to do with that.
03:22But what do you want an offensive line to do?
03:24Do you want, do you want an offensive line that's going to create push and holes for Woody Marks to
03:29go, to go rush for 1500 yards?
03:31I mean, like, it's just the immediate, I don't know if it's, I don't know if it's because we've had
03:37problems with the offensive line in the past.
03:39I don't know if it's because people are, aren't, are, are just reluctant to, or, or for whatever reason, feel
03:46bad putting it on the quarterback or putting it on the play caller, you know, or, or saying, Hey man,
03:51we're just not good enough at the, at the supporting positions.
03:54Right. It always goes directly to the old line. And I'm just, I mean, I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted with the
04:00thought, the thought that in one off season, you're going to sign guys.
04:05And all of a sudden you're the other three guys that are playing are going to be road graders.
04:10All of a sudden the running back that was a, that that's that I love Woody Marks, man, not, not,
04:14not banging on Woody Marks. I love what he brought to the table, but all of a sudden your, your
04:19offensive line with a couple of signs is going to be, be a line where you,
04:23you can put any behind, he's going to go for a thousand plus yards and he's going to be productive
04:27and, and, and run the football for, you know, five yards to carry.
04:30Like, yes, they can get better. Clearly they can get better. And clearly there's some spots they need to feel
04:36because of free agency.
04:38But I'm just, I'm just exhausted with the big fellas taking the brunt of every conversation about where the Texans
04:44need to improve.
04:45Listen, we can, we can go to break, but I chewed that segment.
04:48No, that's all right. We'll come back on the other side because I'll give you my reason.
04:51Cause I do think it is a major priority, like a major priority that they need to address.
04:56I'll give you my reasonings on that on the other side.
