00:00This is what I call really zinging. Zing, zing. Look at that. Look at that. Wee, wee.
00:06Monja, monja, bon appƩtit. Let's eat. It's time for Tank's Cooks.
00:14Bonja, monja, bon appƩtit. Let's eat. It's time for Tank's Cooks.
00:20It's time, it's time, it's time once again for Tank's Cooks.
00:25All right, we're back, and I got another recipe that was sent to me by C. Lance Eskew.
00:32And he sent a recipe called Crispy Zing Chicken Wings.
00:38Well, I'm going to keep the zing, but instead of using chicken wings, I'm going to be using dyes.
00:45Yes, dyes don't lie. So I'm going to be using these dyes.
00:49Nice little chicken dyes.
00:54Boneless dyes, if that. Nice.
00:57And the first step is to actually dry the dyes. Dry the dyes.
01:08Because moisture is the enemy of crispiness.
01:12Yeah, well, to dry them nicely.
01:14And a lot of people say I should wash my chicken.
01:18But, you know, if you wash your chicken, that spreads the damn salmonella.
01:22That's why I don't get salmonella.
01:25Yeah, that's right.
01:28I've been cooking it right all along.
01:31I've been getting videos sent to me of people who did these chickens yelling at me.
01:34Don't wash me!
01:35Well, I'm not washing you.
01:36I'm drying them.
01:37So we're going to make these dry off these wings, or these dyes, I should say, to make our zing
01:46crispy chicken dyes.
01:50We're going to cook it into the air fryer.
01:53Yes, won't be a liar in the air fryer.
01:56So let's make sure we get these dyes nice and dry.
02:04Yep, get all that moisture off.
02:07Yeah, there it is.
02:08That's how you know it's getting there.
02:09You've got the paper towels actually sticking to it a little bit.
02:12There we go.
02:13There we go.
02:15There we go.
02:16All right, we're going to mix a bunch of spices into a bowl.
02:20We're going to take some lemon pepper.
02:24Lemon pepper.
02:28Lemon pepper.
02:29There's a lot of lemon pepper in here.
02:32Lemon pepper.
02:34It says about a tablespoon.
02:36That's probably about a tablespoon.
02:38Then we're going to have to put in some garlic powder.
02:42Yeah, that's enough garlic powder.
02:50Of course, we've got to put in our accent.
02:54Yes, that's right.
02:55Some accent in here.
02:59Accent.
03:00Wake up those smooth flavors.
03:01Wake up!
03:03All right.
03:04Next up, we'll put in some onion powder.
03:06A little extra bonus spice.
03:09The onion powder.
03:13Onion powder.
03:16We'll put in a little bit of this poultry seasoning because it's poultry.
03:21Here we go.
03:22Oh, there we go.
03:23All right, I'll finish off the poultry seasoning.
03:25Here we go.
03:28Zing!
03:29The rings.
03:30We'll put in a little cayenne pepper.
03:32Yes, why not?
03:35Just to make it a little more exciting.
03:39Of course, we'll put in some paprika.
03:43Paprika, papapapa, papapapa, papapapa, papapapa.
03:49Papaprika, papaprika.
03:51We'll put in a little salt.
03:59We'll toss in a little pepper.
04:11We'll put in a little oregano to give it a little bit of an earthy note.
04:24And now we'll have to put in some, we'll put in a little basil too.
04:29Yeah, right.
04:30We're going to really bring the earth.
04:31And then we have to put in some baking powder.
04:41About a tablespoon worth of baking powder.
04:43That should be enough.
04:46Here we go.
04:48And now we've got to mix these all up.
04:52All right, let's mix these spices all together.
04:57Zing, zing.
04:58Zing, zing, zing.
05:00Spicing up the zing, zing, ding.
05:03Gonna make your zing, zing.
05:05Dice chicken, dice today.
05:08Zing, zing, zing, zing, zing.
05:12Making the spices sing.
05:16Zing, zing, the spices will be singing.
05:20As the chicken dies are zing, do ding, ding.
05:26Chicken dies, chicken dies.
05:29Zing, zing, chicken dies.
05:32So we got these unmoistened that are completely dry because moisture is the enemy of crispiness.
05:43So we're going to throw these into our spice blend.
05:50Here we go.
05:53We're going to throw these dies into our spice blend.
05:57I had the wrong lid.
05:59And we're going to toss these around.
06:02So watch this.
06:03We're going to toss.
06:06Toss the blend and the dies in this bowl.
06:11Toss, toss, toss, toss, toss, toss, toss.
06:14Zing, zing, zing, zing.
06:18Zing, zing, zing.
06:24Kind of looks like a flying saucer, doesn't it?
06:31Yep, we're going to toss this around.
06:33Flip it around, spin it around, flip it around, fold it around.
06:40La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
06:42Toss, toss, toss, toss, toss.
06:45Making sure they're all coated in there.
06:49Yes, indeed, we're going to toss them around.
06:52Toss, toss them around all day.
06:54Toss them around by night.
06:56Yes.
06:57All right, there we go.
06:59All tossed.
07:00All right, here I am at my air fryer.
07:01I'm going to make some, uh,
07:04corn alongside of it.
07:05And how do you air fry corn?
07:07Well, you do it like this.
07:10You spray the corn with some olive oil.
07:16Got this nice little handy olive oil sprayer.
07:24You're going to toss on some corn seasoning.
07:31And toss on some corn seasoning.
07:33There we go.
07:35Kind of like we do on the grill.
07:37I miss grilling.
07:38I can't wait for it to, to warm up and grill again.
07:43Here we go.
07:45Also toss a little accent on.
07:53All right, maybe that's a little too much accent.
07:55Hey, we'll cook.
07:55We'll wake up the food flavors.
07:57And then we'll put in our chicken dyes.
08:00We're going to set it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
08:05Got a nice little parchment paper in there
08:06to keep things a little neat.
08:08There we go.
08:09There we go.
08:09There we go.
08:11All right.
08:11Well, let's see how this goes.
08:17And additionally, we'll make this nice little roasted potatoes.
08:20They take about 20 minutes to cook in the oven.
08:23Never tried this before, but we'll see how these look.
08:25All right.
08:26We've had them in there for 10 minutes.
08:28Let's see how our chicken dyes are doing.
08:31Well, I think it's time to turn the chicken around.
08:35Flip the bird.
08:36Flip the chick.
08:37Turn the bird around.
08:40Cook on other side now.
08:43Yep, I am flipping the bird.
08:46Turn the bird around.
08:49All right.
08:49There we go.
08:50There we go.
08:51I'm going to put this in for actually 15 minutes this time.
08:56The corn, meanwhile, is also looking pretty good in here.
09:01Got some parchment paper to help keep our little compartments neat.
09:06All right.
09:07Let's start again.
09:08Dual cook.
09:10Air fry.
09:1215 minutes.
09:13And let's go.
09:18It looks like we're just about done.
09:20So let's take out these chicken dyes.
09:24Now, here's our last step.
09:26We're going to squirt a little olive oil.
09:29Now, you can also do this with some butter, but I'm going to do olive oil because I think
09:32olive oil is probably a little healthier.
09:34Squirt each dye with some olive oil.
09:38Take them out and toss them back in into our little bowl here and just toss them around
09:46this little sauce mixture again, this little spice mixture, before we have them rest for
09:51five minutes.
09:53This will double, as we call it, double zing the mixture.
09:58Yep.
09:58Here it is.
09:59That last step.
09:59We'll do it on all three dyes.
10:01We'll spritz them with some olive oil.
10:04Also do it with butter, melted butter.
10:06And then just toss them back into our little spice mixture.
10:11Drag it around, flip it around, spin it around.
10:15Yep, yep, yep.
10:17All right.
10:19This is what we call double zinging to get that real big zing.
10:23Zing!
10:27Yep.
10:29And now it'll be almost time to plate the meal.
10:32Time to plate the meal.
10:37Time to plate the meal.
10:39Oh, well, here are those zing, guys.
10:43The recipe sent by C. Lance Askew.
10:46Let's see how they came out.
10:47Of course, this is for, the initial recipe was for wings, but zing, the zing is the zing
10:55and the ding-a-da-ding.
10:57So let's get a little salt on there.
10:59Got our laced little air fryer.
11:02Corn came out okay.
11:04These roasted potatoes, though, meh, not so much.
11:11Yeah, I'd have been better off making them from scratch.
11:18But let's see how these zing chicken dyes came out.
11:23Mm-hmm.
11:29Zing!
11:33These do have quite a zing to them.
11:36Nice zing.
11:38Mm.
11:40A little kick, too.
11:43And if you know any recipe to send me, njtank99 at gmail.com.
