00:06Here's a legend. This is Emmitt Smith, the NFL's all-time leading rusher. And with the way running backs have
00:13been taken out of the game, you're probably going to hold that record a long time. What do you say
00:18about that?
00:19Well, it's a possibility. I mean, it's been almost 25 years now that I've held the record, and that's a
00:27long time by itself. But you've got guys like Derrick Henry that's creeping up there pretty closely, and a couple
00:35others that are still active players. The game itself evolves and changes in and out, and you get all kinds
00:41of ebb and flow of the game.
00:43So, yeah, I like to tell people if a human did it before, a human can do it again. I
00:48just don't know when it's going to happen.
00:49Because to me, the running back position is the most undervalued position now. I mean, they don't get the contracts
00:57they should be getting.
00:58I agree. We don't get the contracts, and we don't get enough of the carries that we should be getting
01:03as well. But that's all because the league has shifted its philosophy
01:09to try and make the quarterback position the most marketable position on the planet, when it's not always that case
01:17for every team. There are teams that have great running backs and quarterbacks that are not as good, but they're
01:24only good because they've got a solid running game behind them.
01:27I mean, balance. I mean, the triplets are why you won those three Super Bowls.
01:32Balance is the key to everything in life. Think about it this way, Frank. You get out of balance on
01:38anything. Now, you lost, you was out of balance when you got 500 pounds, right?
01:42Oh, 530 pounds, that's as high as the scale went. You was out of balance.
01:46So, you was out of balance, and now you're working on getting things back in balance. How much weight have
01:50you lost?
01:52Well over, I'm almost like half the size now. I'm like 284, and plus I have all this excess skin.
01:56So, you lost about over 200 pounds. So, you lost over 200 pounds. Yes.
01:59So, the point is, you're working your way back to balance, and getting back to balance is making you a
02:03little bit more healthier than you was once before.
02:05And it's the same thing in sports and football. If you don't stay in balance or have a balanced kind
02:11of life, things get out of well.
02:14And that's the way our football team operated in the past. That's the way we operate right. That's the way
02:20we should be operating right now.
02:22Because the Cowboys ran the ball effectively. We threw the ball effectively. And we played solid defense and solid special
02:29teams. That's how we won our three Super Bowls.
02:31I mean, the offensive line too. Larry Allen, Nate Newton. I mean, these guys were beasts.
02:36They were beasts. They were beasts within a great system that was suited for Troy, Michael, and myself, because they
02:41knew we wanted to run the football.
02:43And it was a philosophy and a commitment to doing both.
02:47Now, one thing I know you want to talk about a lot is this Narcan nasal spray. Yes.
02:52And I see that you have the case on you. Yeah, I got a carrying case right here, which is
02:56a new device that Narcan has come up with.
02:59You can carry this case and hook it to your pants like I just had it on mine. You can
03:03hook it on a backpack as you walk around.
03:06You can find this case right now at carrynarcan.com, and we can give you a free case.
03:12Now, you may have to go in and get the Narcan nasal spray itself, but Narcan is there to help
03:16save a personal life.
03:17We call it the Ready to Rescue campaign. If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready.
03:22So even out here in San Fran, as you walk around, you see people sleeping on the ground.
03:28You never know if they actually sleep or if they're actually overdosing on something.
03:32Then all is running rampant around the country itself.
03:35And so we've done a good job in terms of spreading awareness over the last four years.
03:39The numbers have come down. However, we still need those numbers to continue to come down any further.
03:44I walk just like almost 900 consecutive days now.
03:47One of my first walks, I saw somebody who was like, the ambulance was around him. It didn't look good.
03:55Like, they were like doing the CPR compressions and all.
03:59And it's, it's everyone I know, everyone you know, knows somebody who's lost someone into overdose.
04:07I've lost some loved ones. I lost a teammate, Mark Tournay.
04:12I know. I lost Mark Tournay.
04:14And my sister-in-law had a couple of episodes when she was recovering from cancer and going through cancer
04:22treatment and things of that nature and had a couple of episodes.
04:24So having, having to deal with that, learning how to deal with that has, has, has, has me, have me
04:32over here continuing to talk about Narcan and how important it is to have it on hand.
04:38I mean, I was at a bar yesterday and I noticed it was by the bathroom.
04:42And I think it's important that all these like restaurants, especially if you have a young clientele, to have this
04:47on hand.
04:48No doubt. I think it's important to have it on hand, no matter where you are.
04:52A lot of police officers carry, a lot of EMTs carry it straight across the board.
04:57It's important to have it in restaurants.
04:58It's important to have it at schools because peels are wrapped and stuff.
05:04People are getting, criminals are getting very creative in terms of how they're getting product to people.
05:09It's ridiculous. And it's dangerous because that fentanyl is just like, like, like so insane.
05:18Like one little like granule.
05:20Yeah.
05:21And you don't even know you take it.
05:22I agree.
05:23It's hidden and stuff.
05:24I agree 100%. And, and, uh, we have to do our part as humans.
05:29If we do our part, think about it this way.
05:31In football, you got offensive line doing their part.
05:35You got wide receivers doing their part.
05:37You got tight ends doing their part.
05:38You got tight ends doing their part.
05:40You got coaches calling the right players.
05:43If we as humans decide to take up the, the oath of taking care of one another,
05:48we will a lot better than where we are right now.
05:50I mean, that's the truth.
05:51I mean, uh, and it's incredible.
05:53It just like a magical spray that could just save so many lives.
05:57Hey, to save another personal life, you never know what kind of talent that person has to offer to the
06:02country or the world.
06:04That's the truth.
06:05Now, after your playing career and now you're doing a commercial for it too,
06:08the dancing with the stars.
06:09What about it?
06:10That you can still cut a rug these days.
06:12Well, I cut a rug every now and again.
06:15Every now and again, I cut a rug.
06:17I do okay.
06:18Well, thanks for joining us and I'm, uh, absolute pleasure.
06:22And, uh, uh, get, what is it?
06:25Carrynarcon.com?
06:26Carrynarcon.com.
06:27I mean, it's very important, especially if you know people, anyone.
06:31You can have it on you and you can save a life and be a real hero.
06:34Yup.
06:37Thanks a lot.
06:38Thank you, bro.
06:38Thanks a lot.
06:41Thank you, bro.
