23:26What are the key skills VCs in MENA need to acquire to support startups, in your view?
23:32I'm sure you have a strong view on this.
23:34So the question is, what are the skills that, as VCs, we need to build?
23:40I think it's just, again, supporting a startup is a lot of things.
23:47It's helping them fundraise.
23:49It's helping them set a strategy.
23:50It's helping them hire.
23:52It's helping them personally through tough times and getting them.
23:57Sometimes you just have to be a shrink, sit and listen to a founder who's going through a tough time
24:02and be there.
24:04And I think it's one of the things that at FlatX Labs we really care about.
24:08We always call ourselves not just an investor but the institutional co-founder.
24:13And by that, we're in the journey with the founder.
24:16And I think a lot of the times in the early stages, that's genuinely what they need,
24:20that support of someone that is there thick and thin, someone that is the partner that is able to not
24:27just provide a check and walk away,
24:29like sort of roll up our sleeves, sit and discuss strategy, look at business models, look at hiring and team
24:36structure,
24:37help with marketing agency, give them the exposure that they need, place them at the right spot at the right
24:43time.
24:44These are all things I think investors need to do a lot more in the MENA region and not just
24:49provide a check.
24:50Because in a nascent market, a lot of the times, this is actually a lot more needed than just the
24:55cash.
