BA Graduate Performs C-Section for ₹3,000: Mother and Child Die in Ambedkar Nagar Illegal Hospital.

Shocking case from Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh 🚨

A pregnant woman and her newborn allegedly died due to gross medical negligence at an illegal private facility operating as Navjeevan Hospital in Baskhari Bazaar.

Priyanka, wife of Sandeep Kumar Verma from Bukiya village, was admitted on February 5 after labour pain. A C-section was performed at the facility, following which she reportedly began bleeding heavily. As her condition worsened, she was referred to a private hospital in Akbarpur and later advised to be shifted to Lucknow. She died on the way during the night of February 6–7.

A health department probe revealed the hospital had allegedly been operating illegally for nearly five years and that the surgery was performed by unqualified individuals.

The accused include Yogesh Yadav, a BA graduate, and Shubham Vishwakarma, an Intermediate pass. Police said Yogesh allegedly learned basic medical procedures informally from his father, a former ward boy at CHC Jalalpur, and went on to perform the C-section. The hospital operator, Ruby, is absconding.

Both accused were arrested from Baskhari and sent to jail. Circle Officer Nitish Tiwari confirmed that further investigation is underway.

The incident has sparked serious concerns over illegal medical facilities and regulatory lapses in rural UP.
