00:00Several days ago, Rajee Ali and several other detainees were taken to the Mount Hope Hospital under heavy police and army guard where some of them were treated for medical issues.
00:10But Ali, who spoke to his lawyer in a recording released by his family to TV6 News, says that authorities have been disingenuous in their continued detention at the Tetran barracks in Shagaramas.
00:30Ali said that he and other high-risk prisoners who continue to be detained at Tetran have been ill-treated and is asking that the relevant authorities step in and assist them.
00:49We leave the seven-and-a-half-a-day, when it is yet, blindfolded, walked our room, and the man identifies himself as a police officer.
01:02He said he came to read out that the detention has been revoked, but we remained blind.
01:08He read it out, but he paid by me hand, but we asked him, he said, so we'll be right, so we return to me.
01:15He said, well, yeah, right?
01:20And then after that, we see nothing change.
01:23Nobody happens moving to the family.
01:26Nobody happens getting any hearing.
01:29The food system has changed.
01:32Drinking water's close to seven months now, it's just water.
01:38Playing in the way, you know, people are running out.
01:41Men being beaten.
01:44Men being stripped, so it's continuous.
01:47Ali said they continue to be mistreated and locked away as he denied there was any plan to target any public officials, as the government had claimed.
01:55We denied all the claims that we had any former alliance to disrupt any country to target any public officials.
02:04All of this was made up, and I'm sure they have nothing to prove it.
02:08We can't charge with it, and we're being punished.
02:12Ali said they have even been denied the privilege to speak to their families virtually over the last six months,
02:18and is calling on the Minister of Homeland Security, Roger Alexander, to visit him and speak with the detainees to get their side of the story.
