00:00Why is Polymarket apparently yet not involved in any of the Super Bowl predictions?
00:05This is a little stunning to me, given how much I've seen of them on social media over the last couple of months.
00:10Yeah, both of these things are a little surprising to me.
00:13The first that you can have Super Bowl commercials on prediction markets.
00:16Both of these companies have a lot of money they'd like to spend.
00:18I'm sure Calci, if they had the opportunity to bet to to have a commercial on the Super Bowl, they would have taken it.
00:24The price tag of that is pretty minimal compared to the amount of money they have raised.
00:28So the NFL, they've been mincing words behind the scenes.
00:32They're saying it's not prohibited. It's just not an approved category.
00:35I'm not sure how that's a big difference.
00:37But apparently, unless something changes the next five days, you're not going to see a prediction market commercial on the Super Bowl.
00:43The other big deal is, yeah, this is obviously a huge time for prediction markets that have have sports event contracts listed right now.
00:51Calci has a really pretty aggressive menu of things that you can bet straight on.
00:56That looks a lot like what you'd see on most sports books.
00:59It's not quite as robust, but I'd say it's pretty it's pretty big.
01:03There's a lot of a lot of different props you can bet on there.
01:06I don't think I've seen Gatorade or the coin flip on there, but a lot of game related events that you can you can bet on there.
01:12But Polymarket has not on its US facing app does not have any Super Bowl markets.
01:17We're sitting here on Tuesday. I think you'd expect a sports book that you're using to have any kind of Super Bowl markets listed right now.
01:25I mean, maybe you're not ready to bet them, but you like if you don't see them when you log in, you're like scratching your head like what's going on here.
01:31So we don't have a whole lot of insight into why that is.
01:33They have sports markets on plenty of other sports, including NBA and college basketball and hockey.
01:39So it's interesting. You can, of course, trade on the Super Bowl on Polymarket International, which is technically not legal in the US, but they do have markets there.
01:48But this idea that they don't have it with their US regulated platform is kind of weird and then raising some eyebrows in the industry right now.
