Transcript
00:00Hi I'm senior beauty editor Tasha Turner and this is beauty all access. Today we are here with top
00:10stylist Ursula Stevens and my girl to talk all about hair trends. Urs what are some of the hair
00:16trends for the summer? Well there are definitely a couple of trends going on for the summer and
00:20I'll give you one for each length. If the girls want or into wearing long hair super long it's
00:25absolutely in. Long beach wavy, long bone straight, long undone. So something like your hair? Something exactly like my hair.
00:33Yeah you flip that. And mid length is also a great trend right now. Mid length with lots of body and movement healthy.
00:41Just think 70s hair and you know 70s hair is all about movement, big and bounce and that's a great trend for those girls who are about the mid length you know.
00:50So girls you know how my hair is bone straight every week. Today Ursula worked these curls so it's all about curls.
00:57Just adding some life and body to the hair. And if girls are doing the short thing it's all about super short or it's all about just having it undone.
01:06Like short hair but undone just like you didn't even care. Really effortless and fun all about getting a good product to just spike it and keep it moving.
01:14Now how do you become inspired? How do you find some of your trends?
01:17Well I get inspiration from so many places. I could just walk down the streets of New York City and feel inspired.
01:23I could look into an old hair magazine. I could look at an old movie. I'm that person that can take something from everywhere and just create something different.
01:32Now if you're wondering about Ursula's inspirations and how she gets some of the trends, think the asymmetric, think of a short crop with blonde hair, think of Rihanna's fiery red color.
01:43So every time I'm thinking about trends or if I need a trend, Ursula is the one that I'm going to.
01:49Now Ursula, what are some of your favorite products? What are the products that we should not look without?
01:53I would definitely say the Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion. It's one of those products that are good for everything but you just don't know it.
02:01And you can use it for, you know, you have your short hair, you want to mold it down, sit under the dryer for 30 minutes.
02:06If you're that wash and go girl, you can scrunch it in your hair and run out. It dries in like 20 seconds.
02:12It's also great for like a blowout. You can put it in prior to you blowing out your hair. It's a great style primer.
02:18So it's just one of those products that it's a little, it's a secret product because it can be used for so many different things.
02:24My favorite dry shampoo right now is the Rene Fritterer. It's the best. It smells great. It does what it's supposed to do. It's just one of the best ones.
02:34When we apply dry shampoo to our hair, when should we wash it out? Should it last for a day or two days or?
02:39Well, dry shampoo is meant to stay in your hair. You spray it in and then you brush it out.
02:43And then if you were planning on shampoo, say you wanted to shampoo your hair that day and you couldn't have,
02:48it'll hold you over for about two or three more days. So after the two or three days pass, you can shampoo your hair or you can either dry shampoo again.
02:57What are your favorite styling tools?
02:59Oh, definitely a flat iron. Like I go, my flat iron is always in my pocketbook all the time.
03:06As soon as I use it in the morning, I wrap it up, I put it back in my pocketbook and it's with me everywhere I go.
03:11Because, you know, a flat iron now, you can do everything with it. You can curl, you can go curly, you can go straight.
03:17And it's not as harsh as the older curling lines that we had back in the day.
03:23So, you know, I think a ceramic iron is definitely my favorite and my favorite one is the FHI flat iron.
03:29I'm just having fun, really. I think the trend for me is just experimenting with things I haven't done before.
03:35So, you have a lot of things to see from me coming soon.
03:39So we can't wait to see what Rihanna's going to wear next.
03:41Absolutely.
03:42Great. Well, thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much.
03:45Thank you. Thank you.
