Transcript
00:00Hi, today we are here with actress Nicole Ari Parker, who is launching her exciting new product,
00:09Save Your Due Gym Rat. So Nicole is here today to show us how it works.
00:13Well, first let me tell you why I created it. You know, we all share the same predicament of
00:18wanting to work out, wanting to lose those 10 pounds, but wanting to keep our due. We pay $90
00:22on Saturday, and we want it to at least last till Wednesday. But we have a cocktail party on Friday,
00:27and we're mad that we have to wear all this stuff to just be cute, when we could have just
00:32burned a couple calories. And I just, I really made it for myself and my girlfriend, but then
00:37I soon realized that this was something that we all struggle with. All of us need it, yes. And then
00:42I realized that as African-American women, we also are, you know, we choose our hair over our health.
00:50And I felt like, okay, this is bigger than me. This is bigger than just my own need to be cute. This
00:55is about helping us, you know, extend our life. Mm-hmm. You know, and so I worked on it for a really
01:02long time. I teamed up with a great design team, and I perfected it. I tested it, revamped it, and I just
01:11made it perfect. I made it in three styles, because we all have different personalities, and we all sweat
01:16differently. Some of us wear extensions. Some of us are transitioning out of our relaxers. Yeah. Some of us have
01:21bob. Some of us have grown-out page boys. Some of us have pixie cuts. So I know how we are, and I know
01:26how women are in general, because it's also for non-African-American women, because it's just a
01:30fantastic sweatband. Yes. Today, the one that I've given you, because you have a great bob, and you
01:35sweat primarily in the front, is our wideband. Yay. And you don't have extensions. You don't have a
01:43relaxer. No. No. So you really are concerned about your hairline, and the top of your hair
01:49swelling. Mm-hmm. So let me show you how you would put it on. So while you're putting it on, let me ask
01:54you a few questions. What is it about the material that makes this work? Well, most all dry wicking
02:00material is the same. It's a polyester base. Mm-hmm. But I've combined two types of polyester. One has a
02:07sateen finish, so your hair, there's no breakage. I know everything that we like and we need, so I make sure that my
02:13gym rep had it. The outer layer is kind of a, it allows the heat to escape and the cool air in. It has
02:20like a dual function. But the thing that makes this different is that I have a third layer. It's very
02:26hard to get a third layer in a sweatband without making the woman hot. And I found a way to put this
02:32really thin, like specialty cotton in there to, that really grabs that water. It's very lightweight. Yeah.
02:40It's not going to stop you from sweating. Sweating is a natural body function. Of course. You don't want to
02:44stop sweating. And it's not going to make your hair like you just stepped out of it. But what it is
02:50going to do, it's going to extend the life of your blowout. That's all I want. For you, you have a nice
02:56length here. Yes. And you know, I always suggest. Look at Nicole doing my hair. Ah! I always suggest,
03:04you do your hair the way you do it at night. Yes. How you tie that night scarf on. Okay. With
03:09that same fierceness. Okay. Especially when you know nobody's coming over. Yes. Of course. Of
03:14course. Or your husband's not there or something. So, you know, poor Boris has to suffer through my
03:19do rags anyway, but that's what Mary for Kids does to me. So, you have a nice, I could get a nice grip.
03:27My keys are brush, tuck, and tie. So, you would brush, tuck, and then I'm also coming out with a
03:36pomade wax. Very lightweight, no fragrance, to kind of smooth down these edges. So, that's why I would put here.
03:42And because you can work out every day, you don't want to put a lot of product. Yes. You don't want to
03:45build up. So, I would just put a little bit of pomade with a nice little brush. Brush, tuck,
03:53and then you tie. And then tie. Some girls like it right in the front. For you, I would go right to
04:02the hairline. Some girls like it behind the ears, but you have edges that still stick out here. I would
04:07cover your ears. Full coverage. Full coverage. And you have coverage going all the way back to the
04:13center of your head, which is great. And then, you can control. This is the other reason my gym
04:19wrap is so different is because it's not a continuous band, which slip. They don't always fit. Yeah,
04:24the velcro. You have a small head. I have a larger head. You know, it's like everybody's different,
04:29and you got to take that into consideration. So, you can grip it. But it gives me that tightness. I can
04:35feel it. It gives me the tightness that I like. Yes. You're done. You work out. So, I work it out.
04:41I work it out. I work it out. You work it out. And then, you take it off. The thing is, is that the
04:46hair remains flat once you take it off. And all you have to do is adjust depending on your hairstyle,
04:51and your type, and what you like. And this is also for my natural hair sisters, too. You know,
04:55people don't realize it costs money to get those flat twists done, to get the gel down, and the up-dos,
05:01and your locks redone. So, this is also for setting natural hairstyles as well. Nice. Nice. Nice.
05:06So, everybody's coming. Take this off.
05:11I pull out the band. I would even do this if you know you have somewhere to go,
05:17and you're very active. Grocery store, dry cleaning. Yes. Which is great. Running
05:21around with the kids at the park. Yes. Yes. It's stylish enough to do that. And you're
05:25still judged. And look at Nicole doing my hair. So, that's the gym rep. I love my job. This is for
05:32you. Thank you so much, Nicole. Thank you. I appreciate you coming and showing us your product. Yes.
05:37Congratulations.
