00:00So today we're here with celebrity hairstylist Suzette Boozer. Hi Suzette. Hi Tasha Turner,
00:09how are you? Thanks for having me with Essence.com today. Thank you for being on Beauty All Access.
00:14So today we're going to talk about how to wrap your hair. You know how you take out the pins,
00:21you got the dent in it, or you wrap it, you put it in the scarf and your hair is not straight
00:27enough or it doesn't lie where you thought it should lie. Today's Suzette Boozer is going
00:32to show us the fine art of wrapping your hair. So Suzette, let's get started.
00:37The first thing that you would want to do is basically you're going to use a wide tooth
00:41comb to begin with to start detangling your hair throughout. Then you will part your hair
00:47on the side in front of your ear. That, from the middle of your scalp all the way to the
00:54end of your ears, you're going to slightly do apart and you'll pull the hair forward
00:59and separate it from the back and go backwards. What you want to do is literally take the hair
01:04that's forward to separate it, wrap it around in motion to control the hair. After that,
01:11what you will do, you will carry the hair that's in front of your ear towards your face. You're going
01:18to carry that hair upwards and you're bringing it this way from this direction going up. What you
01:25do, you then use one of your clamps and you will place it to hold the hair in this direction. You
01:30then use the section of the hair from the middle to the next ear and you want to pull that behind
01:34the ear in the same circular direction that you're going in. Then you can also use another clamp and
01:40you will clamp that there to hold it in place. Going along, what you will do is actually wrap the hair
01:45in the back in the same circular direction and you'll use another clamp and you'll use it to hold
01:50the middle nape area up. So now with the clips remaining in your hair, what you would want to do,
01:58you're going to take your silk or satin, any polyester scarf and you want to fold it in a triangle.
02:05You will then take the triangle area, you will pull it to the nape of your head in the back. That's
02:12actually smoothing all the flyaways from in the back of your head. You're going to bring it, you want
02:17to tie it in the front. Once you tie it in front, your remaining triangle should be underneath. You
02:23can actually pull your triangle to smoothen everything. You will then take the scarf and you
02:28will turn it in the direction of the wrap that you did it in and once you got it behind there, you fix
02:34your ears. If you'd like, your knot can remain in the back. You will then use any moisturizer. You're only
02:41going to use a dime size so you don't weigh your hair down for the whole day because this is a process
02:45that I'm showing you to do every night. So you use a little bit, rub it throughout the whole entire
02:51hair and then you will use your brush or comb as desired to continue and finalize your styling.
02:57And then you will continue these steps every night until your next visit at the salon.
03:01So there you have it. After that lesson, no one should be walking around with a crazy wrap.
03:07Thank you so much Sue for coming. Thank you Tasha Turner and thank you Essence.com for having me.
