00:15Girls, it's hot outside, it's sticky, and if you are anywhere close to the East Coast,
00:23it's 102 degrees outside.
00:25The last thing you want is a bad hair day.
00:28Who wants their hair sticky on their neck, or sweltering, or it's humid and your edges
00:32are sticking up?
00:33So the three things that I always have in my bag is my hair accessory.
00:38That's my ponytail holder, that's my headband, and that is my little contraption to pull up
00:44my bun or to pull up my hair.
00:46If you have one thing this summer, it's all about the hair accessory.
00:49So you know our ponytail is like our must-have hairstyle of all times.
00:54Many of us, whether we're white, black, green, brown, we all wear our hair in a ponytail.
00:58And there's nothing worse than having a rubber band on your hair.
01:02You don't want to wear a rubber band.
01:03It should always be stylish.
01:05So when you do that, make sure that you have a hair band that has some bling to it, that
01:10has some metal to it, just cute.
01:11You don't want to walk around all bland.
01:13You see, I'm wearing it as well, and it looks really great.
01:16A hair wrap or a headband goes a long way.
01:19Whether you're natural or relaxed, it's a great way to pull your hair back, take your hair
01:23off of your shoulder and your neck, and then you can just luxuriate and be cool.
01:27So I have La Paris here, our intern, who is going to show us, with her beautiful locks,
01:32how to pull her hair back with this cute head wrap.
01:35So she puts it over her hair and pulls it back.
01:45And simple as that.
01:46She's cute.
01:47She's great.
01:48And she's cool.
01:49So when Goody came to the office to show me their spin pins, I said, there's no way that
01:55black girls could use this ever.
01:57Like, they will never get this into their hair.
01:59And they guaranteed that they could.
02:00I took it home and I tried it, and it really works, y'all.
02:03And it's really great.
02:04And I wanted to show you guys this, because you have to have this in your bag.
02:08So you take out your ponytail, or if you don't have a ponytail and you're starting from scratch,
02:13and you know those days where your hair is down and you're like, I have to pull it up.
02:17So you give yourself a little roll.
02:22Then you'll take the spin side down onto your hair where you want to secure it, and you spin
02:28it in.
02:29And it's simple as that.
02:30So depending on the thickness of your hair, that will determine how much you'll use.
02:35So for me, I usually need to use three, because my hair is pretty thick.
02:41And I get them, and I'm spinning them in.
02:45So when I'm with my kids, I'm in the car, I'm hot, you know, I'm doing my laundry, regular
02:49girl stuff.
02:51I just take them, take them out of my pocketbook, and I spin them in.
02:56And I get a secure bun.
02:56It's done.
02:57So to stay cool this summer, it's all about your three accessories.
