00:19Today we're here at The Rain Store, bath, body and home decor.
00:23But what makes this store so unique is that all the products are handmade by South African indigenous people and Zimbabwe refugees.
00:31So I'm going to meet up with marketing manager, Laura, who's going to give us a tour of the store.
00:35Hello, Laura. How are you? Thanks so much for having me today at The Rain Store.
00:38So today we're here at The Rain Store to take a look at all of the fabulous bath, body and home decor products.
00:44Laura's going to show us around. So let's take a look.
00:48Okay, so this is Savannah and it's our top selling scent. It's really, really beautiful.
00:54Take a smell here. It's very citrusy. Oh, it's gorgeous.
00:58There's over 100 essential oils that make up this scent.
01:01And there's shea butter and baobab in all of the moisturizing body products.
01:06So we've got lotions, creams, butters. In Savannah, we also have things that match the decor.
01:10So they don't necessarily smell like Savannah. This is one that's really popular.
01:14It's called a box of chocolates. And it comes in a handmade box. And these are little guests.
01:19Oh, I love. They're like little gifts, guys.
01:21And they're great because you can reuse the box.
01:23A small present. And they're all soaps.
01:25And these are hand-wrapped and decorated by women in South Africa who just does this.
01:30They're really, really sweet.
01:31So let's move over here. What's here?
01:33This is wild cotton. And wild cotton is more of a unisex scent.
01:39This is the wild cotton scent. This is the cream version in the wild cotton.
01:44Nice.
01:45These are great standalone gifts because the jar is so cute and it comes with that spoon.
01:48Very nice.
01:49So we've got lotions, which is the lightest, and then cream.
01:51And so hydrating.
01:52Very hydrating.
01:53This one has marula oil and shea butter in it.
01:56Marula is like this miracle oil in Africa.
01:59We have incorporated a lot of the African oils in our body, moisturizers as well.
02:03So hydrating, but not oily. It's not slippery. It's really nice.
02:06Yeah.
02:07And so as you see, there's lots of decor. There's baskets that are handmade.
02:11There's the burner oils, bath salts, empty boxes. Again, we can fill with things.
02:16We also have rugs. These are recycled leather.
02:19Great. So let's see what else you have.
02:20Okay. Great.
02:23So what are these beautiful soaps?
02:24This is our whole slice soap table. These are olive oil soaps, which are just about almost edible
02:31because they're just oils and essential oils.
02:33This one is a soap on a rope. We just got this in.
02:36Nice.
02:37It costs $12.50 and they last forever. Our soaps, these are amazing for people who have sensitive dry skin
02:43because they don't have any sulfates in them. They're just oils and essential oils.
02:46Oh, that's great.
02:47This particular one smells like lavender and sweet orange.
02:50And are these different scents?
02:52Yep.
02:53Different colors?
02:54This one, smell that one. I love this one.
02:55Oh, it's so interesting.
02:56This is lemongrass.
02:57This is lemongrass.
02:58Yeah.
02:59And I'm falling in love with these balls here. What are these?
03:02Yeah. This is our bath jelly.
03:03Yep.
03:04And so this is also all made in our factory. And these are fizz balls, which you plunk in your
03:09bath and they kind of fizz up and make the water softer.
03:12Wow. Look at the colors.
03:13So these just, they soften the water. They just make it very luxurious. The thing though,
03:18that I think is the most amazing are our bath salts. I can come in and make my own concoction
03:23or I can come in and buy it by the bottle or by the bag.
03:26You can.
03:27So if you want something nice for your bath, you can get some salts as well as the fizz balls
03:31or the, what do you call these?
03:33Earth eggs.
03:34The earth eggs.
03:35And then it'll add the hydration into it. Wow. I see aloe over there. What are those?
03:38Oh, this has a huge following.
03:41Uh-huh.
03:42This is the aloe and avocado line.
03:44Uh-huh.
03:45And as you know, aloe is very healing. Avocado oil is extremely moisturizing.
03:50Yep.
03:51This has a true following. This aloe and avocado line is, has more African oils in it than the other.
03:56Yep.
03:57It also has, is the purest as far as preservatives and things like that in it.
04:02This bottle.
04:03Look at this bottle. Look at it.
04:05I love this bottle.
04:06Yeah.
04:07So like you were saying, it's all about the decor and it's not, it's also about the packaging.
04:10It's a big deal with us and it looks great.
04:12There's, we have lots of exfoliation scrubbing things, sachets. These are the bath salts for this one.
04:18Now I'm coming down here and I see these cute little feet here.
04:21And I just want to know what they are.
04:22I know. I love that set.
04:23Whatever I do gift bags, I always put that foot in here.
04:25This scent is African rain. So when people come in, I know your rain scent.
04:29But you know, many people have a rain scent. This is the closest to what people think of as a rain scent.
04:35It's beautiful. Especially for space.
04:38Nice.

04:40It's really nice.
04:41There's one thing I want to talk about is these spigots and what's going on with these colored things.
04:44I love the spigots.
04:45I love those.
04:46Can we come over here and talk about that?
04:48Okay.
04:49So tell me about these.
04:51Okay.
04:52So this is really, really popular. It's a make your own oil based body scrub.
04:56And it's a four step process. You choose your oil based on the properties.
05:01And we've got jojoba, rosehip, macadamia, grapeseed, olive oil, avocado.
05:06So this is like a beauty project to you, I see.
05:08Yes, but it's very interactive.
05:09So, I mean, this is so much fun for people because they can choose what they want and mix it up themselves.
05:15And it's very exciting.
05:16There's literally hundreds of thousands of combinations you could make.
05:19You choose your base that you want.
05:21And that's my scrub.
05:22Yep, you leave with this.
05:23And then you also have an active, which adds more exfoliation and more antioxidants.
05:28You can sprinkle that in.
05:30Nice.
05:31To just make it grittier for your feet or your hands, any place where you want more exfoliation.
05:34Depending on what you like.
05:35And then you use my oil.
05:37You choose my oil.
