00:30When I first heard about Beautiful Possibilities, what jumped out to me were the two companies
00:36that were putting it on Essence and Ulta because I had always wanted to work with either and the
00:40chance that I could potentially work with both, I couldn't pass up. The whole aspect of beauty
00:45industry and what goes behind the scenes and also to help me understand a career I would want to
00:51choose. I applied to Beautiful Possibilities because I am in love with makeup and what it's done for my
00:55confidence. Beauty is a more complex term that shouldn't be placed under one definitive label.
01:05Everyone is beautiful in their own way, shape, form, size, color, whatever.
01:09If I can make an advancement in the beauty industry, it would be to have more programs like this for
01:20younger kids and for people my age to gain more knowledge. I think that brands need to get rid of
01:26that stigma that they need to cater to one type of audience to get their products sold. I know me
01:31personally, I don't want to use a brand that only represents me when it's convenient. There isn't
01:35enough diversity in the advertisements that we see that portray beauty, and I just want everyone to see
01:43somebody that looks like them.
01:48Now we can talk about the fun part, which is actually getting ready to go to Chicago, which I am so excited
01:53about. I am forgetting that it's winter, so half of my stuff doesn't quite cut it for Chicago weather.
01:59It's still unreal. Like, I don't think this is actually happening. I feel like it won't hit me until I actually get on the phone.
