ESSENCE.com's Fashion Editor Zandile Blay and Beauty Editor Tia Williams check out The Spring 2012 line for Michael Kors
Transcript
00:00Hello, everyone. You're hanging out with Essence.com at Front Row Backstage, and we just saw the Michael Kors show. Oh, my gosh. In very Michael Kors fashion, there was bronzer everywhere. These girls had it rubbed on their cheeks, on their legs, on their shoulders. It was everywhere.
00:29And, of course, anchored by a very strong brow, which is basically ubiquitous this season. It's everywhere. But the great thing was this ponytail. It was this big, braided mask that was just, like, tweaked and teased. It was like you fell asleep and rolled around, and then you got up.
00:44You know what? They brought the same level of dedication to those clothes. All I kept thinking was safari diva. I mean, this girl wants to play in the wild, but she has to look luxe. So you were seeing a lot of snakeskin trim. You were seeing a lot of zebra print, which feels so wrong.
00:59The way it looks so right. You know, you were seeing a lot of great accessories, like those great, big, comfy wraps-up slacks that you can just pack everything in. Really great sandals. I mean, the accessories are really, really strong.
01:10I liked the clothes. I didn't live for them. I thought they were well-executed. But the theme just felt a little bit cliche. But you know what? Fashion is a jungle, so Michael, boo, I get it.
01:21So that was Michael Kors. There's a lot more to see, so keep on hanging out with us at Front Row Backstage. Bye.
