00:00The extreme cold in the east has been a big headline lately, but take a look at what's going on in the southwest.
00:05Los Angeles making a run to a record high on Wednesday at the airport, 85 degrees.
00:11Long Beach nearby, 90 degrees would break the record by 3 degrees.
00:15How about that, 90 in early February.
00:18The heat in the west is not just going to be in the southwest.
00:21In fact, as this big ridge builds, the warmth is going to be expanding north all the way across the northern Rockies
00:27and even into areas like the Black Hills of western South Dakota, where Rapid City could hit 70 degrees on Thursday.
00:35Very impressive warmth for this time of the year.
00:37Montana, Wyoming, Portland, Oregon in on this as well.
00:41All the while, the east is going to be staying chilly, but we're going to get a nasty blast of really, really cold air to return into the weekend.
00:48It's going to come with snow squalls on Friday, so while the west is warm, we get very frigid once again this weekend, Saturday and Sunday in the east.
00:57There are some big cities along I-95 where the AccuWeather real field temperature on Sunday morning will be around 20 to 25 degrees below zero.
01:06So enjoy the warmth in the west, but bundle up in the east.
