00:00We're going to Alcatraz. You know who else is getting sent to Alcatraz?
00:03Oh, oh, oh, it's one of the alternate broadcasts, isn't it?
00:06Jack Collinsworth, Tony Dungy, and Rodney Harrison.
00:09Oh.
00:09That sort of, like, secondary studio team for NBC that feels like they've got guys under contract where they're like,
00:18we've got to find something for them to do.
00:19I wish one of those guys actually had a criminal record or something because they could really have some fun with it.
00:23That would be great.
00:24Those guys are all squeaky clean.
00:25Other than Rodney Harrison got a PED suspension, but that's about it.
00:28Yeah, yeah, they don't send you to Alcatraz.
00:31Never.
00:31But here's the thing.
00:33They're going to be broadcasting their branch of the pregame content from Alcatraz.
00:40Okay.
00:40Yeah, so, you know, I'd imagine.
00:42I hope they have some fun stuff planned for Alcatraz.
00:45Is that what's the biggest thing?
00:46Can you spend a night at Alcatraz if you want?
00:48They have a night.
00:49Okay, so I looked into this because I got our tickets for the tour we're doing today.
00:52They do have night tours there.
00:55Okay.
00:55I don't know that it's set up to where it's like, hey, they've turned the solitary confinement cells into hotel rooms and you can stay on Alcatraz.
01:02That's actually a fun idea.
01:04But they have day tours and night tours of Alcatraz.
01:06What do they try to do?
01:07They don't try to strike some solemn tone when we go on to these things or anything, are we?
01:11I'll probably do that.
01:13You and I are done in about 30 minutes or so.
01:15Yeah.
01:16That will probably be one of my projects for now, between now and us going over there, is to watch a few YouTubes about the tours of it.
01:23Yeah.
01:24I don't know the answer to that.
01:25The only tour that I've ever seen of Alcatraz is the movie The Rock, where everybody on the Alcatraz tour got thrown into cells and held hostage by Ed Harris.
01:34Yeah.
01:35And a bunch of jilted soldiers.
01:38I've never been in an actual jail cell, like in a prison.
01:41I've never done a tour or anything like that.
01:43So this will be interesting.
01:45Yeah.
01:45I like to talk a big game about how I could do hard time, no problem.
01:49I can't wait to see you squeal like a baby.
01:52Two minutes.
01:53Like, oh, I take it all back.
01:58So as I told you earlier, I have somebody, I'm going to say a relative, because ultimately all the Pendergasts go back to one big Pendergast somewhere, I think.
02:07There is a Pendergast who spent time in Alcatraz.
02:09And you've got the cell numbers and everything that he was in.
02:12He had two C-level cells, and he spent time.
02:15A-level is solitary, and he was in solitary.
02:18Yeah.
02:18He testified to the government about how poor the conditions were in solitary confinement in Alcatraz.
02:23And my response to seeing that was, well, duh.
02:26Yeah.
02:26Yeah, it's Alcatraz.
02:27What is that supposed to be?
02:28It's prison.
02:29Right.
02:29It's supposed to be unpleasant.
02:31Right.
02:31Pendergast.
02:31Yeah.
02:32I know.
02:32What a whiner.
02:34This fluffy middle class, upper middle class dude that somehow, you know, embezzled from his company or something.
02:42He gets thrown in to do hard time, and he just starts whining about it.
02:45It was larceny.
02:46He definitely cried his first night in prison.
02:48Donald Ward Prendergast.
02:51Oh, did you guys get rid of the R at some point?
02:53We did.
02:54Yeah, yeah.
02:54The Prendergast and the Pendergast are related.
02:57Okay.
02:58Yeah, they are related.
02:59Why would you get rid of the R at some point?
03:00Probably because we were embarrassed about this guy, and we were like, we need to change our name.
03:04Yeah.
03:04Yeah, we were like, Donald has been sitting here stealing things from people.
03:08Let's rip that R out of there.
03:09How many years did he spend in Alcatraz?
03:11I will tell you.
03:11I'm looking at his Wikipedia.
03:13Federal prisoner confined to Alcatraz Penitentiary, January 1st, 1940.
03:18Okay.
03:19He probably got a red.
03:20He's a war dodger.
03:20He's a draft dodger, sounds like to me.
03:22Yeah, yeah.
03:22He has the same date as entering Alcatraz as I do of getting hired by Odyssey.
03:27Yeah.
03:27January 1st.
03:28I knew we were related.
03:30He stayed in Alcatraz until July 23rd, 1949.
03:34Oh, my gosh.
03:34So he did nine, nine and a half years of hard time.
03:38That's a vested veteran right there.
03:39Of hard time.
03:39He is running scams out of there and stuff like that.
03:43Yeah.
03:44Yeah, yeah.
03:45A certain amount of credibility.
03:48Probably.
03:48Yeah.
03:49Walked up to the biggest guy when he got there, punched him in the face.
03:51I knew not to mess with one Donald Ward Prendergast.
03:54Yeah.
