00:51and I think I've found three perfect homes.

01:22something with a bit of space for our grandchildren.

01:33I have a husband, Geoff, but he's at work today.
01:36He's happy for me to do the groundwork.
01:39We've lived in Frankston for 40 years,
01:41so we want to stay in this area,
01:43just looking for something a bit smaller.
01:45I love the beach,
01:47the proximity to the Mornington Peninsula,
01:50but you can still get into the city easily.
01:52We've got great services here.
01:54The shopping, just close to so many things.
01:57We have family and friends here,
01:59and it's a beautiful lifestyle.
02:01So this is the place for us.
02:04Our budget is two to two and a half million.
02:08What we're looking for is something a bit similar to what we had,
02:12but smaller.
02:13So we'd love a pool.
02:15We'd love a wood fire.
02:16We'd love to be able to walk to coffee shops
02:18and nice walking trails.
02:22We love older homes.
02:23We don't really want something that's the same as the one next door.
02:26We're looking for something that's a bit different.
02:35Frankston is found just an hour south of Melbourne CBD,
02:38right on the edge of Port Phillip Bay.
02:40It boasts a relaxed coastal lifestyle
02:43with plenty to do and see for visitors and locals.
02:46With its proximity to the city, Mornington Peninsula,
02:50and its dreamy beaches,
02:51it's not surprising why Janet and Jeff aren't leaving this beachside paradise.
03:02What we've got here is an incredible sort of mid-century modernist home.
03:06And it's got this lovely flavour once you get in there.

04:31but the features that aren't going anywhere are the fish tank.

05:25or for other events, which is really handy.

15:24The paint is a bit dark, so I think lighter paint would lift it and make it feel bigger
15:29and a change of floor coverings would make all the difference.

17:40It's close to the freeway, the infrastructure, the community.
17:44We've actually looked at different areas to live, but we always come back to Frankston.

17:49So, it's not just the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula.

18:17You can really have a lot of nostalgia with the home that you're buying

18:30You know, for us, we needed to make an impact.

19:37I think the minute you walk in, it just feels like a home.
19:40It feels really comfortable.
19:42And those things are all such a bonus to have a pool, a spa, a wood fire, and it's near
19:47the coffee shops that we love so we can walk to there, to the beach.
19:51It really does tick a lot of boxes, that one.
19:54House number two, that brand new build.
19:57Another great option.
19:58Such a pretty house.
20:00That's just absolutely perfect from when you walked up right through to the back.
20:04Everything was just so beautiful, so beautifully done.
20:07A lot to look at in that house.
20:09But it still felt cosy and not too overwhelming because you could close off an area and still
20:15other little places to see it and a beautiful home.
20:18And then house number three, I know when we stood outside I said, be open-minded about
20:23it.
20:24I really felt like it grew on you once we got inside.
20:27It did.
20:28It's always overwhelming when you look at a place like that and think, what could you do?
20:32And then within minutes you're starting to think of things you could do.
20:35But it had a lot of interesting features and the view of that one was sensational.
20:40That's when you know you've got the renovating bug.
20:42I loved it.
20:43When you walk into a place and you suddenly, the light bulb comes on.
20:46You're like, right.
20:47I know exactly what to do here.
20:48We could do this.

20:50No, it was an incredible property.
20:52We had a bit of a chat about it all and we think we've decided on something.
