Member of Parliament for Port of Spain North / St. Ann's West, Stuart Young, is expressing concern and surprise over developments in the police-involved killing of Joshua Samaroo ,an incident that also left Samaroo's partner, Kaia Sealy, seriously injured.

His comments follow a recommendation by Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro that the officers involved receive counselling, a move that has drawn criticism, as no leave was applied despite the matter now being under active investigation.
