00:00You always challenged me to bring my A-game, you were always prepared, and you just made me a better host.
00:07Kat Sadler said goodbye to E! News Tuesday after working for the network for nearly 12 years.
00:12But after her final show, Sadler posted a revealing statement, saying she left due to receiving a massive disparity in pay
00:19when compared to her male co-host.
00:21Sadler took to her blog, thecatwalk.com, to share details about her abrupt departure.
00:26She expressed that she was hurt and shocked after learning her unnamed male co-host,
00:31who many presume to be Jason Kennedy, makes double her pay.
00:34This year, Sadler took on double hosting duties for E!, anchoring the network's new live show Daily Pop and E! News.
00:41In her statement, she called it creatively challenging and genuinely one of the most fulfilling years of my professional career.
00:47She continued,
00:48Sadler also mentioned how she and her co-host began their careers with the network in the same timeframe,
00:54cultivating success alongside each other. She wrote,
01:29Sadler emphasized that the gender pay gap continues to remain an issue in the workforce,
01:50something she and her team fought hard to overcome, but were denied repeatedly.
01:54She continued,
01:55Information is power, or it should be. We are living in a new era. The gender pay gap is shrinking,
02:01although admittedly we have a long way to go. And well, I learned this firsthand.
02:06In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, an E! spokesperson said on behalf of both the network and Kennedy,
02:11E! compensates employees fairly and appropriately based on their roles, regardless of gender.
02:16We appreciate Kat Sadler's many contributions at E! News and wish her all the best following her decision to leave the network.
02:22Additionally, a network source attributed the difference in salary to the different roles Kennedy and Sadler held at E!
02:28Kennedy also is the E! lie from the red carpet host.
02:31And while Sadler assures that the decision to leave her friends at the network was difficult, she advises readers to know their worth.
02:38She then spoke to the current climate, saying,
02:57Sadler said she is hopeful about her future prospects and hopes that with her exit she can be an agent for change.
