00:00Obviously, my mind was just going like, what happened? What happened?
00:04What happened? Hillary Clinton is ready to tell you. Clinton has been on an impressively
00:10extensive media tour over the last few days to promote her new book, What Happened? And on
00:14Wednesday morning, she stopped by both ABC's The View and NBC's Today. Over at The View,
00:19Clinton pushed back on White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders' criticism of her book,
00:24saying, I honestly don't pay much attention to what she says.
00:27We're not getting the kind of information from this White House that we should have.
00:34When appearing on The Today Show, she told Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie that she believes
00:38former FBI director James Comey was the primary reason why she lost to Donald Trump in November.
00:44I was just dumbfounded. I thought, what is he doing?
00:47Clinton said Comey's decision to once again look into her use of a private email server in late
00:53October stopped her campaign's momentum and drove voters away from her.
00:57I feel very strongly that he went way beyond his role in doing what he did, she said Wednesday morning.
01:02Things could have gotten awkward during the sit-down as co-host Lauer was one of her primary
01:07media targets in the book. She criticized his performance as host of NBC's Commander-in-Chief
01:12Forum last September, during which Lauer hammered her with questions about her use of a private
01:17email server while secretary of state. Clinton was noticeably peeved.
01:22Lauer had turned what should have been a serious discussion into a pointless ambush, Clinton wrote
01:27in the book. What a waste of time. She also admitted,
01:30I can't say I didn't fantasize about shaking some sense into Lauer while I was out there.
01:35While Lauer, in the effort of full disclosure, mentioned Clinton's criticism of him in the book,
01:40the overall interview was civil.
01:41I hope someday someone will write a book, Presidents Wear Dresses, and we're going to get it done.
01:48When Lauer asked the former first lady if she saw her book as a historic document or as a kind of
01:53literary version of a cleanse, she replied that the book is both.
