00:00Good evening Trinidad and Tobago. I hope the long weekend was an enjoyable one and in case you forgot this
00:06week will be a short one as well. Like David Rudder said, sweet sweet TNT. Let's get started on your
00:13weather. We're kicking things off with what happened over the long weekend. A major dust storm is currently affecting northwestern
00:21Africa and over the next 24 hours the dust will move out over the Atlantic Ocean.
00:28However, most of it is expected to remain far out at sea, staying north of the Lesser Antilles or east
00:35of the region by the weekend. For Trinidad and Tobago, this means there is no major cause for concern as
00:42the country is expected to be largely unaffected with little to no impact. So that's some good news there.
00:48But what Trinidad did experience is a sun halo or a 22 degrees halo which was visible across parts of
00:57the island. A sun halo is caused by the refraction, reflection and dispersion of sunlight passing through millions of ice
01:05crystals in high altitude cirrus clouds.
01:08These crystals act like tiny prisms bending the light at 22 degrees angle to create a visible ring often signaling
01:17approaching moisture. Now you know.
01:20Now moving on to conditions tonight. Tonight we will have very cloudy conditions with a brief isolated shower at times
01:27with minimum temperatures at 23 degrees in Trinidad and 24 in Tobago.
01:32And after weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks of sunny skies, the sun will give way to some fair
01:37and party cloudy conditions with a few isolated showers.
01:41But there is a low chance that western areas of Trinidad can experience some heavy showers during the afternoon.
01:48So don't let me or the rain catch you slipping. Walk with those umbrellas.
01:52Tomorrow's maximum temperatures will come in at a high of 32 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:59But the sun will take back the spotlight for the next two days. Thursday and Friday will give us that
02:06perfect mix of mostly sunny, breezy conditions and at times isolated showers during the afternoon.
02:12So with the holiday falling on Friday and mostly sunny skies expected, you can start planning your outdoor activities.
02:19Both days will have maximum temperatures of 52 degrees in Trinidad and 51 in Tobago.
02:24Now here's a look at our sun times in Trinidad. Sunrises at 6.03 and 6 o'clock in Tobago
02:30and sunset at 6.16 in Trinidad and 6.13 in Tobago.
02:35And with school closed, I know the family beach day is on the agenda.
02:40So if you're going there tomorrow, seas will be moderate with waves from 1.5 meters to 2 meters in
02:45open waters and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:48Speaking of the beach, I saw some of you were very creative with a sun.
02:53This father made a sun with a cake for his daughter, which was very, very cool.
03:01Well, it's now time for a tight time.
