00:00Addressing party supporters, Prime Minister Kamala Passat-Bissasa reflected on what she described as a challenging period for the United National Congress while it was out of government.
00:10She thanked those who remained loyal to the party and to her leadership during that time, saying their support helped sustain her through moments of uncertainty.
00:19For a decade, you stood with me and by my side, when I was heavily tested, and the road was often very lonely and very difficult.
00:31But you supported my leadership when it was questioned. You trusted my judgment when the future was uncertain, and you held faith when others tried to weaken my resolve.
00:45You endured, not only for a party, but for my own cause, in your cause, with a vision and a mission to build a better nation.
00:57You gave me time, you gave me energy, you gave me personal sacrifice, because you believe one day the sun will rise again.
01:08The Prime Minister also outlined her administration's priorities since returning to office, pledging to lead a country with integrity, courage, and care for the people it serves.
01:20She said while progress has been made in the first seven months, there's still significant work ahead.
01:26In just seven months, we have begun delivering on our election commitments at an unprecedented pace.
01:36I mean, I may pause. I see some of you think it's taking too long, but do not ever give up hope.
01:42If you did not give up that hope in 10 years, now is not the time to give up hope.
01:48We will continue to work for each and every one of you.
01:51If some things take a little longer, sometimes the systems and the bureaucracy, whilst we want to do everything yesterday and tomorrow,
02:01it's not that easy, but I will never, and we will never give up.
02:05Please keep the faith.
02:08In Parliament, we advance legislation and policy to fight crime, to strengthen public safety,
02:16to expand the social protection and safety net, and to rebuild confidence in state institutions.
02:25Across the public service, we are repairing weakened systems, restoring discipline,
02:33and rebuilding trust through care, direction, and measuring results.
02:37Mrs. Posada Bisesa said her government remains mindful that its authority comes from the people
02:44and that leadership must always be exercised in the public interest.
02:49Authorities are great trust given by you, the people of our land.
02:54The UN should return to government with a responsibility to govern responsibly in the public interest.
03:01And that is the spirit in which we must move, Kvala.
