00:00Let's get to the women's side because we spent some time talking about Ohio State's really good win over TCU.
00:07But they quietly have reestablished itself as one of the more intriguing teams in the Big Ten.
00:14And the numbers show why.
00:16They scored an elite scoring clip.
00:17They scored in the mid-80s.
00:19They are solid offensively and defensively.
00:22You know, when they're firing, their leading scorer is getting 21.8 points per game and shooting efficiently.
00:28And obviously, we can talk about Jelani Cambridge getting you 50.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
00:35And her ability to get downhill and create havoc with her two steals per game.
00:39Making her really a versatile force on both ends of the four.
00:43With Cambridge, there's Gray, who stretches the floor, knocks down shots.
00:49And we obviously talked about the play that knocked out that big shot she hit against TCU.
00:56But then there's that girl, that's Chloe Kitts' little sister.
01:00Really good offensively, can shoot off the bounce.
01:03And they're just, they have this mentality where they're never out of a game because they're so explosive defensively and offensively.
01:11Listen, they're a run off the court by UConn.
01:14What's really explosive is everybody for what they do.
01:17But looking at the Big Ten in a broader national picture, Ohio State has offensive firepower with an improving defense, what makes them a clear tournament contender.
01:26If they sustain their scoring efficiency and continue to get support for secondary officers besides Cambridge and Gray, this team is capable of going on a deep run.
01:35And I'm talking deep past the Sweet 16.
01:38A team that we focused on a little bit earlier in the year that was undefeated is Iowa State.
01:45Not the men, the women.
01:48And they had the blue print, but they've hit a little bit of a rough patch.
01:53We've talked about Artie Crooks.
01:55They're averaging 27 points per game, one of the highest scoring marks in the country.
01:59Walter leading the team with about nine rebounds on the night.
02:02Jada Williams, eight assists, give them elite playmaking, and that duo has carried Iowa State through much of the Big 12 play.
02:09But lately, things have stalled.
02:12Iowa State has dropped games against quality competition and are deep into starting to scheme Crooks harder, sagging off for first shooters, fronting the post-touch, and challenging drivers without over-helping.
02:24That's exposed spacing issues that's led to turnovers and late-clock situations.
02:29Experts even noted that opponents have figured out how to slow down Crooks specifically.
02:35Also, on the other end of the floor, they're getting Crooks in PNR action, pick-and-roll action.
02:41And her drop coverage and her ability not to come out and cover hard hedge or trap it has led to open shots.
02:50When Crooks doesn't get clean looks, turnovers and poor shots creep in.
02:53And defensively, they're just not getting it done.
02:56Tournament hopes?
02:57Yeah, they're in the mix.
02:58But they have to improve their offensive shot selection, and especially Crooks' defense, if they're going to make a run in mark.
