00:00Uh, Bubba Watson, who is of course a non-playing captain for the range goats, but has his, you

00:05know, equity piece of that team did an interview with the mirror us sports.

00:09And he was asked if he supported lives change from 54 to 72 holes.

00:13And he said, um, no, I said, I think we should go three days.

00:17And there's a reason why this is actually something you've said on the show as well.

00:20Yeah.

00:21I think with the sprint, everyone stays together.

00:23When you go four days, you're going to have some more spread out leaders.

00:26It just kind of takes away your last round, right?

00:28When everybody's close battling, it puts more people in the mix on a Sunday or the last

00:33round on a Saturday, whichever tournament you're at.

00:35And so that just makes it better for the fans when there's chaos happening.

00:39Yeah.

00:40So, so, and I'll say this, and you can add more commentary on that.

00:43Should you like to, but I know, I already know you agree with Bubba.

00:46Cause you've said it here before.

00:47What do you make of this season?

00:50It's been a off season of turmoil for live golf, losing Brooks Koepka, all this financial

00:54uncertainty.

00:54What do you make of a live team captain criticizing the league's biggest off season change?

00:59It was really done in an effort to get OWGR points for the players on that.

01:04The players are going to be really upset if they don't get OWGR points.

01:09Whenever this comes out before the season comes out and they have to play an extra round.

01:14I think that players are going to be very upset and you'll hear more players be more vocal

01:19about it.

01:19And you've seen quotes from Joaquin Neiman talking about how frustrated he is with the

01:24process.

01:24And I think you got to look back of when they were, you know, basically threw in the towel

01:28for a couple of years saying that, gosh, it, it just, isn't going to work out for us getting

01:31OWGR points.

01:32That was poor leadership on their part to, to not do more.

01:36I think they've, you know, had Scott O'Neill really trying to push the ball here to get,

01:40get points for these guys.

01:41And I'm not saying they shouldn't get points by any means, but it would be, it would be

01:45hilarious if they had to play that extra round really for no reason.

01:50Cause I, I actually think there are more unique winners that come out of a 54 hole championship

01:55versus 72.

01:57And, you know, there, I think there's a reason why Jon Rahm hasn't won as much over there

02:00because that extra round does make a difference.

02:03Whether people don't agree with me or not, that's just the facts.

02:07I think better players out last guys, uh, throughout a week, it does make a difference.

02:12And, uh, I, I do expect Jon Rahm, uh, to win more on the live golf tour and not to say

02:18he hasn't been the player there the last couple of years, cause I think he has.

02:21Um, and, and, and Neiman's been able to win.

02:24And was it five times last year, but still, uh, yeah, I'm good.

02:28I'm very interested to see what happens here with that ruling.

02:30Well, and it's, I think the interesting thing about it is that like, I think the chief complaints

02:34of the OWGR, you know, the board were that it was less about number of holes and more

02:40about a closed shop, right?

02:42There aren't, you know, pathways for people to play their way into the tour, which they've

02:46tried to kind of do in a very limited fashion.

02:48The last shout out to Anthony Kim, by the way, that was a, that was a feel good story.

02:53Actually, you know, seeing him actually get through in the promotions that, Hey, I'm interested

02:58in stories like that.

02:59That's awesome.

02:59I watched it.

03:00I watched the final round because there was no, there was no tour golf on.

03:03So it was like, it is, it, that is a, it's a microcosm, but it's an important one of

03:09like, if you could get this thing to where the tour plays and the non football window or

03:16as close to the non football window as you can get, or like the non NFL window, if you

03:19want to call it that, that there are areas where golf sickos like ourselves, we're looking

03:25for something to watch.

03:26It's like, Oh, live golf promotions on Anthony Kim's in the mix and the final round, like,

03:30yeah, we'll love to see if you can get the deal done and he gets it done.

03:32And so like, I, I actually would love to see the ratings on that event.

03:35I'm sure they're out at this point.

03:36It's worth kind of taking a look at, but you know, it's, it's just, I mean, it's not going

03:41to be the greatest rating in the world, but I think it's a reflection on, you know, when

03:47you're serving two different pro tours and you only have so much time to watch tour golf,

03:50it's already a big ass to watch, you know, tour golf over four straight days of, you know,

03:55six hour windows, whatever it is like now you want us to watch two tours.

03:58It's like, she can't do it, buddy.
