00:00The 39-year-old man was surfing here at Point Plumber where he was attacked by what's believed
00:07to have been a bull shark. Now the shark bit through his wetsuit and his surfboard. He's
00:12managed to paddle himself to shore where he was quickly driven to Kempsey District Hospital.
00:17He was treated there in a stable condition and has since been discharged. Lifeguards say while
00:23he only suffered lacerations to his leg, he's otherwise extremely lucky. They've returned
00:29here to warn camp goers about the sighting. There's also drones in the sky keeping an eye out for that
00:36shark. Campers here say they saw a number of sharks shortly before the attack. We spoke to one traveller
00:44who paddled out to warn the other surfers. Guy's mate came down and told us that his mate
00:50been hit by the shark up here. So yeah, told all the guys out there. Most of them didn't care,
00:56stayed out there. Yeah, my brother stayed out there. But yeah, a few people came in.
01:02This is the fourth shark-related incident in just three days and experts say the additional sightings
01:08might be because of that wild weather we saw over the weekend, stirring up nutrients and attracting
01:14bait balls and with them sharks.
