00:08Miss Austin, who is a mother and hairdresser from Barowra Heights in Sydney's north, was
00:13enjoying a holiday with her family here.
00:16We've spoken with one local who operates an ice cream truck.
00:19He says he was able to call emergency services and help guide them during the incident.

00:31suddenly and he said, he was on the phone by the way, he said, one of the lady, she was
00:38groaning and he said, I don't know what I'm going to do.
00:43Around 70 beaches were closed across the state yesterday due to those dangerous surf conditions.
00:49A rock fisherman says he saw emergency services rushing to the scene yesterday.
00:54He says the community here have been left devastated.
00:58This beach has been unpatrolled for the last 30, 40 years.

01:08While the conditions have eased off slightly today, lifeguards are urging locals to swim
