00:01Hey, my name is Mike Moe and this is Finish the Sentence with The Hollywood Reporter.
00:20First memory I have of watching Bruce Lee is with my dad.
00:23So we would always, you know, on the weekends it would be like this kung fu movie of the week.
00:27And I remember watching, you know, Way of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon, Enter the Dragon.
00:32That's what kind of blew the doors wide open for me.
00:34So many iconic moments in that film, especially with the glass showdown with Han. It was pretty epic.
00:41My reaction to being cast in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was a cannonball into my neighborhood pool.
00:57I was at the pool with my kids. I got a call here. I ran out, picked it up and I think I was in shock for like 30 seconds.
01:06And then I literally said, wow, this is amazing. I started freaking out.
01:11All the people at the pool were like, what's this crazy guy doing?
01:14And then I jumped in the pool.
01:15First time I decided I needed to do martial arts was after I saw the original Ninja Turtles movie.
01:21Remember that one? Yeah. So that one was along with many other movies.
01:25Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Power Rangers, all the pop culture things.
01:29That's what got me into martial arts.
01:31The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star I would call the bail me out in jail would have to be Brad Pitt.
01:38He would just show up and I think I'd be like, I'm with him. And he would nod, hopefully.
01:44And then they'd be like, yeah, cool. If you're with him, out.
01:49My hands are registered as lethal weapons.
01:51We get into a fight. I accidentally kill you. I go to jail.
01:56Anybody accidentally kills anybody in a fight, they go to jail. It's called manslaughter.
02:05The most challenging Bruce Lee move to capture is his footwork.
02:09The man was so lightning fast and just trying to keep up with him is something that maybe nobody will ever be able to do.
02:18But, you know, I trained my butt up to just get close.
02:22My favorite Quentin Tarantino movie is, I have a couple, but Inglourious Basterds.
02:29I feel like that and also Kill Bill are obviously since I'm a big action fan as well.
02:37But Inglourious Basterds, every time I watch that movie I'm like, wow.
02:40You know what's up, you bitch? I think this just might be my masterpiece.
02:47The prop that I wish I would have stole from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is the jacket.
02:52So, cool story about that jacket is the day of filming, Quentin comes over and he says, hey Mike, let me show you something.
02:59He takes this flap that was on this black jacket that was a replica of the Green Hornet and he opens it up.
03:07He says, do you see that? And I go, he says, do you see the name?
03:12And it said B. Lee. And we are 99% sure it's the same jacket that Bruce wore on Green Hornet.
03:21And it fit perfectly.
